Cardiff City have continued their preparations for the new Championship season by playing out a 2-2 draw with Shrewsbury Town this afternoon.

The hosts took the lead in the ninth minute when Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro slotted home from the penalty spot, after he had been brought down inside the box by Lee Peltier.

However, Joe Mason grabbed an equaliser for the Bluebirds 17 minutes later with a close-range finish after the Shrewsbury defence had failed to clear a set piece.

There were no more goals in the first half, but seven minutes after the break Anthony Pilkington fired in a free kick to give Cardiff the lead.

The visitors looked as if they would hold on and claim the win, but with five minutes left to play James Collins slotted in after Scott Vernon's shot had been tipped onto the bar to earn Shrewsbury a draw.

Was'nt able to make the game, W on L however are saying Shrews should have had 2 0r 3 in the last 10 minutes also sounds like Moore was very dodgy in goal.

Can easily happen when your making 4 changes at half time then another 5 half way through the half. It's just all about fitness right now we will start to see what slades starting 11 may be closer to the start of the season.

The changes at 60 minutes took the game out of our control, but a good run around nevertheless.

Declan John still not good enough, in my opinion.

Win, lose or draw in friendlies and my view never changes, 'it is only a friendly'.

I never read too much into the results but performances and attitudes along with fitness are more important features of these pre-season games.

City played quite well in patches. Some of the players showed promise including Sammy "Okeekokey". But aFter the changes, Shrewsbury were the better team. City stopped passing the ball. Tbh Shrewsbury dId not "nick" a late goal. They got a deserved draw. Moore played quite well - he wasnt bad at all. Gunnarson didnt look fit at all.

That attendance figure looks odd.
I'd swear we had well over half the crowd.
