The chasm between us and Swansea.

Wed Jul 15, 2015 9:26 pm

Us away to Forest Green, Jacks playing Borussia Monchengladbach. Quality of playing squad, style of football, ambitions. There's a deepening chasm between us and them and it's so sad to see.

If they get a bigger stadium and start to fill it we will literally have no upper hand.

We played Wolfsburg in a friendly last season didn't we?

As for the playing side, Swansea are currently where they are because they shafted their creditors and started from scratch with a clean slate. They've done very, very well since starting from scratch and they're currently light years ahead of us, but whatever they achieve will forever be achieved cheaply because of their history imo.

Saying that, I'm currently thankful for Swansea producing good Welsh players to help us challenge for France 2016 and I wish them well until we join them in the Premiership again one day.

Why do fans insist on comparing us to them? Why not another city of similar size?? Yes they going well but because they started from zero for reason tonteg stated! Yes they are light years ahead but by same token its because our club is light Years different in set up and management to them or any other club for that matter.

if you feel that Swansea have had an advantage over Cardiff because of the previous administration "shafting " their creditors and starting from scratch then that makes the Swans current position and status all the more remarkable. With Cardiff's two previous owners and especially the current Mr Tan ploughing millions into an ever expanding hole we still see the Club no further forward and in roughly the same position as in 2003 , Cardiff's recent murky history isn't something to feel proud about with runs in with HMRC and monies owed to local contractors during the move to CCS so yes the Swans have achieved their current position "cheaply" but not in the context you meant

Couldn't give a toss about them. I'd be bored shitless watching them v Borussia cos they're not my team. However I was gutted I couldn't make Forest Green.

We could be in the Conference and them in the Champions League and I'd feel the same. I just love the City and always will.

Alan, sexy football R us, can't blame u for not watching us as I woukdnt watch u either, tedious, your having a laugh mate

As for the debt, I'm sure those that take over a club struggle with debt run up by previous regimes, in Swansea's case it was just over a million, luckily, £800k of which was owed to Mr Swansea, Mel Nurse, most of the rest was owed to an ex manager and a few ex players, not right but that's the way the cookie crumbles.
