Cardiff City and Burnley chasing 21-year-old midfielder

Championship sides Burnley and Cardiff City are both interested in signing Wigan Athletic youngster Emyr Huws, according to FLW sources.

Huws is wanted by Cardiff City and Burnley

The 21-year-old signed for Wigan last summer following a successful loan spell at the club from Manchester City, but injury limited the midfielder to just 16 appearances last season.

The Wales international is now wanted by Championship sides Burnley and Cardiff, who have been keeping tabs on Huws for some time.

Wigan may decide to cash in following their relegation from the Championship, but they could demand a hefty fee with three years left on his deal at the DW Stadium.

The 21-year-old is seen as one of the brightest young talents in the Football League and is already an international for Wales, making four appearances for the Dragons.

However, he may feel his first team options could be limited in the Championship and could stay with League One side.

Burnley and Cardiff are reportedly eyeing a move for Wigan Athletic midfielder Emyr Huws.

The Championship duo are both looking to strengthen their squads over the summer as they aim for a promotion push next season, and are understood to have expressed their interest in the former Manchester City starlet.

The 21-year-old is keen to return to England’s second tier after the Latics suffered relegation to League One last term, but he is still recovering from an injury suffered in training back in February which could delay any transfer.

The Wales international made 16 appearances in all competitions in the 2014/15 campaign before the season-ending incident.

Well if he wants to make the Welsh squad no better place than with us , with Trollope being a Welsh team coach.
Also was very promising a year or so back and just what we need.

This lad has a lot of quality and will only get better. Strong, technically good and comfortable on the ball. Would be happy with this if true. :bluescarf:

I never trust stories when it's Team X and team Y are interested. Always seems to be space filler.

Quality young player but if we are willing to pay the £2m plus that Wigan want for him, why are we not using the money to sign Russell instead??????

Bloooooobirds.

No worries mate, I'm chilled ;)
Just a bit sick of hearing these constant rumours of so many players when we've signed virtually no one unlike most of our rivals.
I'm one who definitely thinks we need strengthening.

himself and johnny williams would both be very good signings for us. both had big games against us at Ccs and could be the future of Welsh football. be nice if they could do it in Cardiff. im personally a fan of both
