Barnsley midfielder Conor Hourihane could miss the start of the season after suffering a medial knee ligament injury in training.
The 24-year-old is set to miss up to four weeks, making him a doubt for Barnsley's opening League One fixture at Chesterfield on 8 August.
Hourihane made 53 appearances for the Tykes last season, scoring 14 goals.
"He is going to be out for probably three to four weeks," Barnsley manager Lee Johnson told the club's website.
