MINI UPDATE : CCFC MONDAY JULY 13th 2015

Mon Jul 13, 2015 7:09 pm

Cardiff City have, as of today, sold approximately 10,500 season tickets. Around 1,000 season tickets have been sold since the release of the new home kit and the signing of Sammy Ameobi. The club are hopeful they will reach 12,000 season tickets sold by the start of the season.

The club are targeting a centre midfielder to sign before the transfer window closes and don't expect to do much more business on incoming transfers other than that.

The club have ended their interest in Johnny Russell and will not be pursuing it any further.

Regarding players leaving the club, I am told that a departure is imminent and is likely to be completed and announced late this evening. Javi Guerra and Adam Le Fondre would probably be two of the names that fans expect would be the most likely to leave next but I was told that it is neither of those who will be the next out of the door. The player heading out the door is Tom Adeyemi on loan.

Even though both Guerra and Le Fondre are expected to leave, it was interesting to learn that Malaga have not made any contact with City about the Spaniard striker.

City's first pre-season friendly against Forest Green this week will not feature David Marshall, Ben Turner, Semi Ajayi or Aron Gunnarsson. The three outfield players have minor concerns like tightness of muscles so will not be risked on Wednesday.

Bluebirds fans' continuing good behaviour at matches will hopefully help with less restrictions this coming season and it is likely to see less RV's than we have had in previous seasons. Over the course of last season there were just 24 arrests made home and away. Twenty three of those arrests were at away grounds with just the one solitary arrest made at Cardiff City Stadium.

I expect Dikgacoi & Gunnar to be the central midfield. Ralls can play there. 1 more needed for backup.

I think the squad is quality it just needs to build a better team spirit and it was just a season of transition that was the issue that is my opinion. :thumbright: :sladein:

No he is not but Slade wants to have a look at Moore and Wilson and give them the opportunity

I wouldn't say it's good :? It's always good to strengthen the team.

Bournemouth or Watford didn't strengthen their team that much i think last summer but what they did was they built up a good team spirit which is what we should be doing and you know some additions could upset the applecart. :thumbright: :sladein:

I wonder what will happen if Le Fondre and Guerra don't move on, Both should be played imo.

Marshall is suspended for three games due to violent conduct dismissal at Forest, makes sense to play/see the other two in action.

Ten and a half thousand season tickets sold is decent considering all the shianigans, 12000 in total would be excellent and result in someone losing their bet

I can only see a season of struggle :sladeout:

By the time people within the club realise it the damage will be done :digging2:

One more player to come in? What's that about, virtually the same squad as last season!

What makes people think they can deliver this season, RS and his staff?

Great to hear 10200 have renewed, be far harder to announce when only 2500 turn up saying the attendance is 15000.

Well done Leeds, the lad was never given a run in the team not to worry O,Keefe is a far better player :sladeout:

Bournemouth and Watford had good managers, that is the difference between us and them

And they had a midfield that could pass and move that something we will never have with gunners and noone in the team neither can pass a ball more than five feet, the only one that can give a tidy pass is whitts and he aint got the pace to pass and move

Oh dear!
So you're saying you don't want any more signings,a bit of paintball, build up a team spirit & and we're going to play and get promotion like Bournemouth and Watford?
Some say you're you're silly positive. I'd say extremely naive myself.

Adeyemi to Leeds - why do we do this? They are a potential rival who have a decent midfielder just so that we don't have to pay his wages. Why not play him or at least use him from the bench...

Believe me mate but a good team spirit can go a long way look at Malkys team in his first season not a lot of players and not blessed with a lot of talent but they had a good team spirit and got to a cup final and play offs and again in our promotion season and last season under Slade we grinded out some results like we did under Malky while cost cutting so you never know given a full season we could do really well call me naive if you want but thats just my opinion. :sladein:

Kenywne has to be the next, unless he took a pay cut which is unlikely with his eyes set on MLS.

Re: MINI UPDATE : CCFC MONDAY JULY 13th 2015

Tue Jul 14, 2015 12:29 pm

Team spirit is one thing but the difference between CCFC and Watford and Bournemouth, as a previous post suggested is that their managers were'nt stuck in the 1970's idea that football matches are won with 4-4-2. And that midfielders are only there to watch the ball fly over their head as we hoof it up from the back.

I have zero confidence in Slade and his tactics. I don't think it matters one little bit who we have playing in the team its the brand of football employeed and ours last season was awful....compare that to Eddie Howe...mid table vs. promotion.

Trust, I know all about team spirit, having played the game all my life & even at a lower level could win games & be very important.
At this level you need to improve & bring in better than we had last season to progress. Even teams that win premierships look to do this every year.
It's difficult to respect your views when you changed them at least three times last season.
Each to their own though, fair play.

We don't need to improve its the transition that let us down last season and so this season you never know.
