Kenwyne Jones

Mon Jul 13, 2015 3:50 pm

All gone quiet on the transfer front, be amazed if he's not a CCFC player next year. Yes he's lazy, yes he's inconsisntent which is more down to if he can be bothered or not. But his goals per minutes played in a struggling city team last year was impressive, if we can get the balls coming in from the flanks rather than our own penalty box then love him or loathe him he could play a massive part in a promotion push. Opinions please

I expect Jones will be offloaded to the MLS in the coming weeks.

No one wants Jones at £37,500 a week basic, they would be mad

My opinion is.....B*ll*cks!!
On two counts
1/ There will be no promtoion push
2/ We play better without Jones - at least then we may have 11 players trying to do their best! He is a lazy s.o.b. (Although quite useful heading balls away at corners ).

Jones at times was our best defender

He'll be happy to see his contract run down on those wages

Not a fan, but he was played out of position last season. He is a lone striker. His job is to tie in the 2 center half's whilst giving our "pacey" wide forwards a ball to chase. Ever striker that played with him struggled in a 442, he is not looking for them. He is not designed to run the channels, he walks between the center circle and 6 yard box waiting for the ball to come to him.

Ameobi will be perfect for him, we just need another Bellers type for the other side....

First name on the sheet for me last year. We didnt have much attacking omph but what we did have come via Jones.

And like many have said his defence as corners was remarkable
