Looked alright at times, think he could do a good job but last season we had no creativity to give the front men much chance.

He is right.

We need to just play the right way and sort the centre of midfield out.

We have proven goalscorers in our squad.

I agree with him too. I have faith in Doyle & Mason to bang in the goals this season. They should hopefully set themselves a target of close to 20 goals each though!
We need a goal scorer!!!

Unfortunately I cannot see either get 20 goals. If fed with a decent supply Doyle may knock 12-15 in but I cannot see Mason get into double figures. Not a proven goalscorer.

Mason got into double figures in Malky's first season. :thumbright:

I think Doyle can get 20, Mason 10-15 at best.

Doyle has put away his very few chances well from what I've seen.

Mason got into double figures in Malky's first season. :thumbright:

He got 9 from 39 in 2011/12 (League goals)
6 from 28 2012/13
2 from 12 last season

He is not a proven goalscorer and struggled to get game time at Bolton last season. I don't think that the club can rely on Mason to produce 15-20 goals.

Provided with service i think he can score 15 - 20 goals a season but what i really like about Mason is his link up play i think he would make a good number 10. :thumbright: :sladein:

Eoin Doyle or Joe Mason will not score more than 15 goals next year. Guaranteed.

I'm going to save that in my signature box. I'm shocked that you don't think either of them will reach 15 goals plus to be honest. I hope that they prove you wrong so I don't look like a dingbat

Nice to see Doyle score 2 penalties v Blackpool, with Whittingham not playing that game I don't think it's great to see a striker get the ball and take responsibility.

Doyle scored 2 headers, more or less free headers but shows he can also score with his head as well as feet.

Kennedy needs to be more involved and I don't think the nonsense you hear about players being too young in this division will hinder them if they play a lot of games as he already showed he can perform at this level really well and also stand out very easily which weren't hard last season but he did set up Doyle for 2 goals which shows Kennedy can provide the quality touch down the wing to deliver a ball in for Doyle or anyone else.

I think Noone needs to work harder on being unpredictable on the wing, only players who can cut in and do it at a consistent level wouldn't be playing at a level like this which shows with people like Robben who are successful with it consistently more than others.

Problem is Slade rarely played him, he started a couple of games and then only when injuries forced. I doubt we will see a lot of him next season.

I don't think he played him so much when he first arrived, as his first touch was poor for such a prolific scorer, albeit at a lower level!

He got a decent run of games at the end of the season and finished well!

The problem Slade has now, is that unless he offloads the likes of Kenwynne Jones, Doyle will have far more competition and it'll be a tough call on whether Slade picks him or Jones, although he could pick them both and push Mason & Macheda down the pecking order!

When he had games at the end of the season we only had him and mason and he wouldn't dare change the 442

At one point he started the game 4th choice only got on macheda and revell got injured.

I quite like what I've seen of him to be fair

Doyle and Mason will be both score of our midfield actually links up with them

Hopefully with ameobis pace we might see some decent crosses go in the middle

Agreed more from the midfield and he'll do good. Perhaps Mason on the right.
