We need a goal scorer!!!

Unfortunately I cannot see either get 20 goals. If fed with a decent supply Doyle may knock 12-15 in but I cannot see Mason get into double figures. Not a proven goalscorer.

Mason got into double figures in Malky's first season.

Mason got into double figures in Malky's first season.
He got 9 from 39 in 2011/12 (League goals)
6 from 28 2012/13
2 from 12 last season
He is not a proven goalscorer and struggled to get game time at Bolton last season. I don't think that the club can rely on Mason to produce 15-20 goals.

I don't think he played him so much when he first arrived, as his first touch was poor for such a prolific scorer, albeit at a lower level!
He got a decent run of games at the end of the season and finished well!
The problem Slade has now, is that unless he offloads the likes of Kenwynne Jones, Doyle will have far more competition and it'll be a tough call on whether Slade picks him or Jones, although he could pick them both and push Mason & Macheda down the pecking order!
