Gary Medel left Cardiff City for Inter Milan last summer and now he could be heading to Anfield after success at the Copa America
Liverpool are considering making a big-money move for former Cardiff City midfielder Gary Medel - according to reports in Chile.
The Chile international, who played a season in the Premier League after joining the Bluebirds from Sevilla, played a key role in securing the Copa America title for his country.
Now Brendan Rodgers reportedly sees 'El Pitbul' as the man to fill the void in the Anfield midfield left by superstar Steven Gerrard - who has moved to LA Galaxy in the MLS.
According to La Tercera, Liverpool boss Rodgers was impressed with Medel’s performances during the South American tournament and is now firmly on their transfer radar.
With Steven Gerrard’s departure to the MLS, the Reds are in the market for midfield options and despite his good form for Inter last season after leaving South Wales for £9m, Metro claim Medel’s future at the San Siro is unclear after the signing of midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia from Monaco.
