Cardiff City striker Javi Guerra still remains on the radar of Spanish side Malaga after their manager Javi Gracia insisted he is still a top target, reports Wales Online.
Guerra spent the second half of last season on loan with the Costa del Sol side and they are keen to bring the 33-year-old back on a permanent basis.
It seemed like the deal would happen a couple of weeks ago, but it hit a snag when Cardiff refused to pay off the player’s contract.
The striker still has a year left on his current deal which leaves the deal hanging on two options.
The options are for Guerra himself to pay off the remainder of his contract or for Malaga to come up with the money to do so.
The Spaniard has already agreed to take a pay cut on his current wages to secure the move to the La Liga outfit.
Malaga have already lost a number of their forwards including Juanmi to Southampton and Gracia is keen to add more attacking options ahead of the new season.
“We would like to come back for Javi Guerra because we’ve lost important players in attack. But it is not up to us.” he told Spanish news outlet Deportivo de la Cadena.

True the moaning Spaniard is boring, feck off if you want to go, but don't expect us both to pay you, if not rot in the reserves and ruin the remainder of your career......

Great news, now all he has todo is terminate his contract and he can feck off back to Spain. He never should have come to a league he clearly didn't fancy
