Annis, this player power needs to stop and if Liverpool do exactly what they say it could be a step in the right direction for clubs and the start of a situation where other players take note and not be so greedy :ayatollah:

There's no way Liverpool as a business would do this

how is he 'chasing the money' when he said he will not sign a new deal at liverpool no matter how much they offer him in wages? he just wants to play for a club in the champions league and a team that can win important trophies. in any case liverpool reject £40m yet think he's only worth £100k a week? hypocrites.

he's supposed to sign a new deal for liverpool just because its a historical club? they will not be in the champions league for some time. his PR has turned the public against him, whereas liverpool are successfully using every trick to turn the public against him.

i suggest some of you engage your brains and start thinking for yourself rather than lapping up everything the media chuck at you. at the end of the day it comes down to a player wanting to play for a bigger club and better himself.

He's doing a good job of turning people against him by 'phoning in sick' for pre season training! He's contracted to Liverpool at the moment so he should be honouring that contract and going about things the right way.

you could also say that liverpool as a club should go about things in the right way instead of trying to shame a player publicly who has made it clear he doesnt want to sign. their attitude has been "this is liverpool fc you should sign this deal".

maybe, just maybe, the player wants to play for a team with a chance of winning trophies? liverpool finished 6th and will probably finish there again. he has looked at gerrard who won very little and spent 20 years at the club.
