' THE SO-CALLED DIGS AT RUSSELL SLADE ??? '
I am surprised that a few people on this board are shocked that Newcastle want Ameobi to play when fully fit, it is something that loaning clubs do especially when they are sending a player to a lower league.
Can I just remind people that City themselves recalled Rhys Healey from his loan spell at Colchester at short notice because he was not playing enough, as a loaning club we exercised our right of the loan agreement to do that.
For the posters who are saying that it is a dig at Slade or an anti Slade agenda by stating that Mehmet Dalman did the negotiations with Newcastle is absolutely ludicrous, the manager highlights the players he wants that are within a budget and then the chief executive, managing director, director of football or the chairman will negotiate the deal, it is extremely rare that a manager negotiates the terms of a deal.
It is not a dig at Slade by stating Dalman negotiated the deal, it is a fact. That takes nothing away from Russell Slade, he met the player and obviously did enough to impress Ameobi because had he not then Dalman would have not had a deal to negotiate.
It is called teamwork; The whole management team working together to get the players and deals that help the club.
People talk about agendas a lot and sometimes I believe there are those who want to twist or put a different slant on what is said to make it appear that there is an agenda being pushed when it is not the case.

I've huge respect for Dalman.
Here's hoping that this signing will help other players in their decision to join !

Dalman, Choo...Slade.......starting to look like a decent management team

You only have to think back to 2010 when we signed Danny Drinkwater on a season long loan from Manchester United to understand the "Mindset" of Premier League clubs when it comes to getting match experience for their promising youngsters. Man Utd were hoping that DD would get a good run of games with us but what happened come January?
DD had hardly played for 2 months then we signed Aaron Ramsey and JET on loan from Arsenal and Man Utd reacted and recalled him and just 3 days later loaned him out again to Watford. Why? to get the match experience he was unlikely to get at Cardiff.
PL clubs may wants their youngsters to gain match experience from these loans deals, but they cannot insist that their player is an automatic choice to the starting 11, that is down to the club the player is on loan at. If the PL club are unhappy with the game time the player is getting they can, if it is included in the terms of the loan agreement, recall the player in the January transfer window and loan him out again. As Man Utd did in the case of Danny Drinkwater.
As regards RS it is well documented that he talked with Ameobi last week and he has obviously sold our club to SA, so I say well done RS.
The financial arrangements of the loan have been dealt with by our Chairman which is pretty much the norm nowadays so that's no negative reflection on RS. At least not in my opinion.

I think a lot of people are missing the point on purpose or they are maybe just dull, All it says about the terms are
If fully fit, he must
feature in every League game, that means he can start a game, come on as sub or just be on the bench, as that is to feature in every game

Mehmet Dalman is, in my opinion, a very important part of our management team and it is important to remember that he was part of the Manchester United setup at the time over their takeover.
We need to consider how other clubs view us.
Had we asked our manager to deal with negotiations, and no disrespect intended to him, it might have appeared that we were asking a lower level of manager to deal with the negotiations.
As it was we gave the impression, to Newcastle, that this deal was so important to us that we sent in the top brass to deal with the transaction.
Good business sense!

I agree. This deal was down to numerous diff end people doing their jobs properly. It was a team effort and Choo Slade and Dalman all deserve credit for it. Let's hope we are just as efficient in the future.

There were definite digs from the usual posters when they thought that he had chosen Wolves and it was in some way Slade's fault for not selling the club to him.
Not much from them tonight.
Thanks for the information about this transfer.

Most of them (especially Angelis) are being particularly noticed by their absence in the Ameobi threads today, but some of them are having digs at Slade on other threads though, particularly as to whether we should sign one player or another, as he/they would not be able to play in his style of formation!

So we signed a player that couldn't make it in the premiership
Wolves couldn't guarantee first team football we could ?
That tells me Wolves wanted him as a squad player
Is he good enough only time will tell
I hope he is

When everyone thought he was going to Wolves, it was because Slade was rubbish and couldn't sell the club to him. When he did sign, it was because Dalaman did all the work! Some people will never give Slade a chance, more fool them!!
I believe he will do well, and gain promotion.
To achieve what Malky did on Dave Jones' budget. (Even then, some posters will say it was Dalaman and Trollope!!)
I might be wrong, and this post can be dragged up at the end of the season for ridicule and told you so's. But at least i supported every element of my club, and gave them every ounce of my support no matter what had happened in the past.

I don't understand how this is sensible!!
Russell Slade Is a championship manager who finished his team in the top half of the table in his first season. Doing so under immense financial cutbacks and a very harsh home crowd nearly every home game!!!!
Arsenal secured the signing of Ramsey from us by meeting with the manager himself and not the chairman like man utd did.
and you're telling me that this isn't a dig at slade?
with all due respect, you're taking us for fools!!!

Did you know you can offer bonuses to loan players, not trying to be negative but maybe we offered a better cash incentive. Besides does this signing signal more players to leave like noone because we have pilkington, Harris, Kennedy, according to most on here we are close to. Signing cotterill, we have to many wide players then. Unless he plays striker, and yet again, we will have too many even if we only keep the likes of Doyle, revell, mason, Healey

Russell Slade is obviously very highly thought of within football circles. You can bet Newcastle did some research on HIM before they trusted the club with one of THEIR assets.
Just because a lot of people on this board have a go at him doesn't mean he is respected elsewhere. Lets get behind him!
