Get rid of Jones ,le fondre mecheda and the saving on there wages less the wages for the new signings and we would actually reduce our out goings
We could also get rid of a centre half if Bruno is staying
IMO Morrison would bring a fee in and he is probably on 20k plus so I would let him go

Steve, this is probably the first post of yours where I agree 100% and you didn't slag Whitts off either
As you know I'm not a Slade fan by any means but I think he has cracked it with Ameobi and could just be the player we need. When most people on this thread viewtopic.php?f=2&t=159800 were saying he will go to Wolves because they are a bigger club than us and all that bollocks I said I reckon he will sign for us and I wasn't just saying that to be different but I had that feeling, of course anything can go wrong so I will not get overly excited until he signs on the dotted line. I'm the same as you in regards to signing new players, we have quality players in our ranks that if managed the right way and played the right way can smash this league, I really believe that so I think another 2 signings with Ameobi would be enough imo. I have said on numerous occasions that I hope Slade proves me wrong and if Ameobi does indeed sign for us then Slade is going in the right direction as far as I'm concerned. I hope come May Slade makes me eat my words and proves me wrong. He must get it RIGHT on the field with the players we got, I hope he does it.

If I remember you said we were going to walk away with this league last season, and that OGS was a good signing. I thought you were way out then, and I still think we are nothing more than a mid table side, and I am not blaming our manager for that as to a certain extent his hands are tied, and he will not have the money that OGS had to spend.

I know what you're saying mate but look what we said about some of our past players that we didn't rate, Rudy Gestede springs to mind so I don't take too much notice about his previous clubs fans as some of it could be bitterness. Newcastle fans I seem to recall said the same about Chopra, you know what happened there so I take their comments with a pinch of salt. Of course he could also prove to be dog shite

Clearly if he said that OGS was a good signing then he was wrong on that score, however, with the players and size of squad that Slade has at his disposal, he does not need anything like the amount of money Ole was allowed to squander!

As the OP said Slade is our manager and we are stuck with him. It makes no sense to wish the club ill so we can get rid of the manager so some fans can say "I told you so"

Instead as the OP states we should get behind him and give him our full support. If then he fails, he fails because of himself and not because of some trumped up hate campaign by small minded individuals.

Personally I would love Slade to take us into the Premiership and keep us there as what a story that would make

Well I was a big supporter of Gestede and it's a matter of opinion I suppose, but IMO, I thought Bothroyd was the best centre forward seen at Cardiff City since at least the John Toshack days and if you trawl back to our fan's negativity towards Bothroyd before he had even played for us, you'll probably have to admit that he turned out to be far better than loads of our fans ever envisaged!

Sayin that though, I thought Eddie Johnson was going to be a good player and bang goals in. Same With Jason Byrne, although Byrne did have a pretty good record in the Irish league..

Some people will say that Eddie Johnson wasn't given enough time or chances, as he seemed to be coming good and we then got rid of him, the same as Gestede!

He played 30 odd games and scored two goals and an own goal. Thats quite a bit of chances. He'd win a header against Andre the Giant mind, can't remember him ever not winning a header. His first goal was a magical moment as well. Actually seems like a top guy. He Talks about Cardiff on twitter quite a lot.

Thought we did right to let him go when we did, as he was down the pecking order, but I think he would have been a good back up against Blackpool at Wembley, especially when Bothroyd went off!
