as second game behind closed doors.

City will take on former Israeli Champions, Hapoel Ironi Kiryat Shmona

Cardiff City will take on former Israeli Champions Hapoel Ironi Kiryat Shmona on Tuesday, 21st July (kick-off 7.00pm local time). Our opponents finished third in last season's Israeli Premier League.

The fixture will be played at SDC Putten’s SportPark – based in the province of Gelderland and approximately one hour’s drive from the Dutch Capital, Amsterdam. The fixture is open for all visiting Cardiff City fans and local supporters to attend, with tickets available on the gate priced at €5.00.

A second game will be played against Sparta Rotterdam on Friday, 24th July, though this will be a ‘behind closed doors’ fixture as agreed between the two clubs and the Dutch authorities.

I wonder why the club were so intent on going to the Netherlands, in the first place? as it seems extremely difficult for British clubs to organise a game with any Dutch teams without the potential for trouble. In light of that, I would also add that the club have at least done well to line up teams that will offer some decent opposition at that stage of our pre season.

The Dutch have some of the best training facilities, systems and techniques In Europe and possibly the world. A lot of the top end schools and grass roots football teams in England are sending theirl teams on training camps out there as the whole setup is miles above anything we have here. Their conditioning systems are a few classes above also as has been proven with the way dutch ray did things with the welsh squad and Bellamy during gary speeds reign with wales.

I don't think the club should be planning these trips around wether or not 50 or so desperados can be catered for on a pre season jolly  There's plenty of meaningful football coming up that should satisfy all supporters' need to watch the team
