Is the lack of signings that bad?

Is the lack of signings that bad?

A fully fit Pilkington, Mason and Dikachoi from the start will be like new signings.

Plus Doyle has had his bedding in period in the Championship.

Slade will have a full pre season with his squad he assembled in January, plus he inherited an absoulte shambles of an unfit squad when he arrived.

If we want to improve the quality of football that we are playing or push for promotion then YES

If we are happy to sit mid table at best then NO.

I think that we need 3/4 quality players including a decent goal scorer and a bit of pace out wide/ up front.
We also need to offload the unwanted players asap. Presumably little coming in until we off load a few.

Agree with you. I think we have enough quality already to maintain our championship status. A lot depends on how ambitious our owner is, and whether he is serious about a return to the Premiership. I have my doubts as I don't think he will be prepared to gamble the large amounts of money needed to be up there with the genuine contenders. Had his fingers burnt once, will he be prepared to carry on pumping money in with no guarantees at the end?

malky played crap football but we were winning so no complaints ole tried attacking football and forgot the defence ,best football for years was under Dave Jones ,if he had the backing of tans money we would of gone up and stayed up

Dave Jones was our best ever manager!

Of course it matters, our present squad is simply not good enough to get us promotion, I'm assuming promotion is what you want to

Agree with you. It was quite common to play the ball out from the back with pace and end up with Chopra/ Bothroyd scoring the goals. Many fans still complained about 'hoofball' although it was like watching Barcelona in comparison with the performances we have witnessed over the past 6 months.

Fair comment.

I really think we got a good side there, but just need to find a way to click. I mean the back 5 (inc Marshall) is pretty solid. Centre mid is not very creative but we got some good players when on form and fit. Up front I got faith Mason and Doyle can get goals. Just need some pace in the side and creativity. I would say one or two QUALITY singings should do it for a top 6 push
