Cardiff City eyeing move for Sheffield United star.

Cardiff City are considering a move for Sheffield United forward Che Adams, according to FLW sources.

Friday July 3rd 2015

The 18-year-old joined Sheffield United in November last year from non-league side Ilkeston and made 13 appearances last season in all competitions, scoring three goals – and FLW understands that Cardiff boss Russell Slade is an admirer of the up and coming prospect.

However, it currently remains uncertain whether new Sheffield United manager Nigel Adkins will be willing to let the forward leave this summer.

Two of his three goals were against Tottenham Hotspur in the second-leg of the League Cup semi-final when the youngster came off the bench to score twice in five minutes to level the tie.

The Blades had beaten the likes of Huddersfield Town, Peterborough United and Crewe Alexandra to his signature, and it was reported that at one match he played for Ilkeston he had 45 scouts at the game to watch him.

Adams, who has a year left on his current deal at Bramall Lane, is rated at £350,000 according to transfermarkt.co.uk.

The Leicester-born forward, who was on the books at Coventry City as a youngster, scored nine goals in 16 games prior to his move to Sheffield United, and was also called up to the England national C team last summer.

What do you make to the news Cardiff fans?

If he's buying him with a view to putting him straight into the first team it's a massive gamble.

If he's not ready to go straight into the first team then he's no better than what we have and can't see the point of just adding to the squad.

It's always important to build for the future as dead wood gets shipped out. I'm sure he'll go into dvp squad and who knows could be worth a few mill in a few years and cut some money off the debt

now this is the type of signing i like if it happens. no lose really. small transfer fee as in last year of contract and a chance to be quality. small wages to so no real gamble and could be a gem like Kennedy.
shame we didnt go for Tom Thorpe. Man Utd u21 captain that lifted the trophy and now released and signed for Rotherham

Get him in. Could be just the guy we need, someone who will know doubt get critiscm and slip under the radar, and hopefully prove people wrong.

Although he did fantastically well scoring two quick goals against Spurs when he came on late on, he only scored 1 other goal in 12 games. Could be one for the future but not to be thrown in to the Championship at this time.

If the club are looking to offload Jones & Le Fondre could do with a striker who has some experience that could be thrown straight in.
