Nigel Pearson: Leicester City sack manager
Tuesday 30th June 2015
Leicester City have sacked manager Nigel Pearson, with the club saying the working relationship between Pearson and the board was "no longer viable".
Pearson, 51, guided the Foxes to 14th in the Premier League in 2014-15.
"Regrettably, the club believes that the working relationship between Nigel and the board is no longer viable," said a Leicester statement.
"It has become clear that fundamental differences in perspective exist between us."
He first became manager of Leicester in June 2008 but left two years later to take over at Hull before returning to the Foxes in November 2011 with the club in the second tier of English football.
They clinched the Championship title in 2013-14 and won seven and drew one of their last 10 games last season to secure Premier League survival.
The Leicester statement, which thanked Pearson and "wished him well", added: "The board of directors recognises the success Nigel has helped to bring to Leicester City during his two spells in charge, particularly during the last three-and-a-half years.
"We trust that the supporters will recognise that the owners have always acted with the best interests of the club at heart and with the long-term future as their greatest priority."
In June, Pearson's son James was one of three players sacked by the club for their involvement in a racist sex tape, although it is not yet known whether that decision had any impact on Nigel Pearson leaving the club.

I wonder why?

He is a massive cock mind, and I bet his sons antics have a huge part to play in this sacking

I expect he will get another job In the prem.

I'm not sure whether to be shocked or not. LCFC were certs for relegation last March, before they performed that five or six winning spell. I think even NP was pleasantly surprised by all that,,,,regardless of his post matches interviews.
However, I personally regard him still, as as a very good manager.

I suspect their Far Eastern owners now want a big name "trophy" manager.
Of course, there's always Malky

I would absolutely love Pearson here

Shock, horror, owners from the Far East are discusted with the way their British manager behaves and his son and mates treat Thai women!! Parallels with the situation between Tan and Malky, I think

Perhaps I am in the minority here but I am not shocked at all.
Recently 3 players were sacked for racist comments made whilst on a "jolly" paid for by their owners. The problem is that one of those players was Nigel Pearsons son!
I can just imagine all sorts of uncomfortable questions followed.

Rumour is that Nigel Pearson was not consulted over the sackings and he threw his toys out of the pram! If true, just indicates the arrogance some of these managers posses. As I said earlier, parallels with the sacking of Malky

Not surprised in the slightest.....agreed performed miracles to keep Leicester up
However, his and his sons off field antics left a lot to be desired....good on the owners for making a stand...it' shouldn't be difficult for these highly paid..highly pampered players/managers to behave themselves in public

I would probably think twice if it was going to cost me a £million a year job (possibly)

There you hit the proverbial nail on the head, i.e. you have the ability and sense to "think" before you act!
What they fail to realise is that as "simple commodities" they are only 'useful' so long as said 'value' is being achieved. Once it is not the case, they are spat out quicker than a Military Junta dummy!!
