Leeds have been close to completing a deal for Wood but Bluebirds boss Russell Slade could be set for a late, late move for the player

As the club are trying to offload Jones, Wood would be a great replacement to play alongside Doyle.

However Wolves and Leeds are well in front of us so the chances of it happening appear slim.

Probably right. The attraction is either money or a club showing ambition to get promoted/ fight for a title, etc but unfortunately we do not seem to come within either of those categories. We need quality but it looks like the club do not want to spend the money ( even though they keep claiming that the aim is promotion). I don't think that money should be thrown around and wasted but I think we need to sign 3/4 quality players if we are going to realistically fight for promotion. With the current squad mid table at best.
