I'm here right now, but thankfully not in Marmaris where they'd most likely target

You are just as likely to be the victim of an attack in the UK, Spain, France or the USA as you are in Turkey.

I agree, but Muslim majority countries with booming tourism are now at high risk after Tunisia

Sorry disagree with this. Yes an attack could happen anywhere at anytime but the odds must surely be higher where the population is predominantly Muslim.

You maybe correct but I have to believe I'm safer staying home.

I worry about an attack at a football match, easy target and so many people together, especially at a big match like European Championships and World Cups..........

They've done beach attacks in Turkey a number of times in the past

You have to ask yourself the question, who is arming these maniacs, I know where I put my guess.

This is nonsense as far as Islamic State are concerned. They want to make their name known and want to shock and cause horror. Attacks happen often in Turkey as Military Junta has pointed out. To get the West truly in a state of panic they will seek to attack it at its heart, from within. Hurting the UK, France, Spain and the USA on their own land is, to Islamic State, better than going for Brits in places like Turkey.

They will still do it of course but there is just as much risk in Western Europe and you are delusional to think otherwise. If you honestly think you're safe in Western Europe or there is low risk then you must be living on another planet or completely out of touch with foreign affairs and what is actually going. Islamic State have sleepers all across Europe ready to go into action and attack.

MI5 have the UK's terrorism threat level at severe. France is on high terrorist attack alert which is no surprise given the latest attack there and both have a large minority Muslim population whilst also having a majority of native westerners in terms of the population. The places to avoid over the next coming months are Istanbul, Ankara, Barcelona, Glasgow, London, Madrid and Paris.

OK mate, I am delusional, well done you win.

Doesn't change the fact I feel safer at home or that far more terrorist attacks and innocent life's lost have taken place in Muslim countries like Egypt, Turkey and Tunisia.

Thank you also for posting a link stating that the UK is on a Severe Terrorist Alert, I have missed that fact as I have been to busy working at various Army Barracks across South Wales.

You go ahead and book up your next holiday in the Middle East mate. Me, I will be off to Cornwall where regardless of your attempt to make me look foolish I am confident the odds against a terrorist running riot around Fistral bay with a Kalashnikov are relatively low.

Christ it could happen anywhere doesn't matter where you are. Look at the fella in Australia in the cafe a little while back, you could be on Eastbourne beach and some lunatic could murder you. I've never had any problems in turkey or any other country. You just got to be a bit savvy that's all.

Also some parts of the Caribbean you probably got just as much chance of getting murdered. I'm going Tunisia next year with the wife and kids we stay with friends but use hotel pools and beachs.

I'm going to marmaris during the summer holidays with my family and can't wait.

As people have already said the risk is everywhere and I won't be letting it dictate my holiday.
Maybe the risk is higher in some places but the risk is everywhere.

If you feel better then fair enough, but the reality of the situation is not based on feelings, but fact. The fact is Lee Rigby was murdered in Britain and he also probably thought he was a lot safer in the UK than in one of those countries or any of the countries he visited during his time deployed. Sadly, nowhere in this world is safe. The world is a horrible place and goes through periods where evil truly rises up. It has done so all throughout history all over the world. London, 7/7, was full of people who probably didn't expect such to happen in the UK, but it did.

I live in Eastern Europe and the media in the UK always go out of their way to scaremonger and quite simply, they talk a load of crap and do not reflect reality at all. It can happen absolutely anywhere and its more likely to happen in a big Western European city where they can get more news coverage and more of a reaction than it is further afield. All the psychopathic terrorist murderers are on their way to Western Europe and there's going to be some seriously horrific incidents there if the governments don't wake up. Sadly, the British and French governments are beyond stupid and wont do anything because they're cowards. You'll be getting them coming in through Turkey from Asia and you'll also be getting possible African Islamic extremists coming across the Med. Western Europe is not a good place to be.
