Cardiff City have reportedly ended their interest in Johnny Russell after being told the striker is not for sale by Head Coach Paul Clement.

Reports in Wales suggested that Russell Slade had made initial enquiries about the former Dundee United player`s availability but had been knocked back and will now look elsewhere. Russell made fourtysix appearances in total last season scoring eight goals despite missing part of the season with a hamstring injury. With new Head Coach Clement wanting to fully assess his squad during pre-season he is not willing to listen to offers for the Scottish international at the moment.

I believe 99% was paper talk as City had for ages shown no interest in any players until the last week.
Even worse as to clubs wanting City's player, no club has shown any interest at all.
