Midfield............

All this about transfer speculation, players coming back from loan etc is all bolluc*s unless we sort out the crux of our problem - midfield.

Every year we say the same thing but its paramount we invest here. Whitts doesnt offer anything anymore at all, plays too deep and goes awol for large periods. For me is now an attacking liability. As he plays too deep, Guna is often exposed to fill the huge hole that Whitts should be filling behind the strikers. Also we have potential in wingers but I think we need another strong midfielder (to compete with Guna - may be Dika??), definately a creative midfielder - ie a Whitts 10 years ago and another pacey winger. Kadeem Harris has to play more too as he is a threat.

So no matter what strikers we have, who comes back from loan etc its pointless if the midfield isnt serviced! Get a strong, attacking minded midfield and the rest will come. We dont have to play with 2 defensive lines of 4 in the Championship and need to be more of a risk going forward. To do that the midfield needs to take 20 strides up the pitch! That would allow us more than 1 person in the box when a cross comes in, more shots on target etc...
