Reminiscing over classic games and my mind went back to Spurs.Remember it being a bit lively that day. One of many lively days at Ninian Park. Great memories. :bluescarf: Could write a book about them. Damn, Annis beat me to it.

I was at the game, and remember it well. Peter Sayer's goal was on the start of MOTD for ages afterwards. The next round against Wrexham was good, too. John Buchannan's late late winner. The fifth round game against Everton saw the end of our cup run. It was very lively near Ninian Park station afterwards. Never liked Scousers since that day.

I think that Tottenham got relegated that season, and remember us playing them shortly afterwards. 0-0 at Ninian Park, if I remember correctly.

Great times, the 1970s! :bluebird: Long before the ayatollah. Blue, white and yellow scarves.

That was a day to remember and I remember a fantastic performance at CB from Paul Went, who cost all of £25k, but on the day seemed to win every header and blocked every shot.

Sayer got the plaudits for a memorable goal but on the day Paul Went was everything any football fan would want from a player, complete commitment to the shirt.

This was the day I learn't that anything could happen in football.

I was a great admirer of Spurs. They played the best football going but never won anything. To me I would rather admire a team like that instead of watching winners like Liverpool or Leeds in those days.

This day Cardiff had about 6 1st team players out and if we were going to get smashed for me it had to be against a team like Tottenham. We totally outplayed them that day and deserved the win. I was more in shock than delighted. Anything can happen in football.
