' POINTS MEAN PRIZES '

In just a little over six weeks Cardiff City kick off their Championship campaign.

Russell Slade has said that the first month of league fixtures will be a yardstick and the end of the month will show where we stand as genuine contenders in the division or not as the case may be.

How many points will you consider to be a good total at the end of August ?

August Fixtures :

Fulham Home
QPR Away
Blackburn Away
Wolves Home
Forest Away

15 points would be good but I doubt that is likely but I think 3 wins, a draw and a loss would be considered decent.

Hopefully win our two home games, beat Forest away, pick a draw up at Blackburn and probably lose against QPR.

I am going to say 10 points will be good, anymore would be fantastic but any less than 8 points would be poor.

The positivity that gaining 10 points or more after 5 games could possibly drive the season and the aspirations of the manager and fans.

I think we will get 3 wins out of that.

It would be great to get 10 points from the first 5 games but based on the fixtures I would be happy with 6. Realistically based on the current squad I cannot see us get more than 4/5 points.

7 or more and I will be happy

I'd be suprised if we got more than 6

I'm going for 9 points (2 home wins, 3 draws) would be a good start

The idiot is just bringing pressure on himself by making statements like this and, in my opinion, it just highlights his inexperience at this level.

History shows that if your in or around the playoffs after 12 games then you can consider yourselves genuine promotion contenders. Last season was the perfect example because after 5 games we were 8th but after 12 games we were 16th and we ALL know that was pretty much our level last season.

Two wins if lucky and a draw.

Don't want to appear to pessimistic but it wouldn't surprise me if we only got 2pts

We'll get a point from either Blackburn or Wolves
And don't fancy Forest away

That said this is the month to prove ourselves and if we can get 10 from that then we are promotion contenders

I don't think we'll get rolled over as easily as some people think. I think we could well get the 7 points a lot of you are hoping for. I wouldn't be surprised if we got 10 points.

At this point - before new players etc .. i would say 6-7 pts.

Looking at the posts on here some should be eating humble pie, yes early season but not bad considering wasn't easy 1st five games!

Good to see this thread back up - thought more would have had their say before the start of the season

I went for 6-7pts and we were on 6pts before the Forest game,and have to be honest i went with a draw for that game.

More than happy with the start of the season - with that tough start as most said before a ball was kicked.
