The reason why Welsh Football ticker prices are so low (£20 Adult & £5 Child) is because the rights are owned by Sky Sports. The way football should be. Why should the fans in the Stadium pay in excess of £30-£40 a ticket while if your sat at home, you get it for free.

Keep Welsh Football on Sky Sports, reward the fans who travel to the games and pay to watch them. It's up to the rugby what they do, but in my opinion it would be a massive positive to sell the rights as there would be more money available to drop ticket prices and trickle down into grassroots.

I doubt if the WRU know the meaning of looking after fans with lower ticket prices, They charge an crazy amount for tickets £70-£90 !!! If they had a sky deal I would be my bottom dollar that they will continue to charge the same. Greed money-grabbing EGGS

Fair play to them though, the silly fuckers still lap those tickets up. If the demand is there, you can't blame them. I agree with the above poster. Cheaper match tickets are more important that free view TV coverage.

From what I know of it the WRU are terrible. They have destroyed the regional game in Wales. But the national team almost got to a world cup final a few years back and we've been through possibly the most successful period in welsh rugby ever.

Do you you think many would follow football here if the Welsh FA suddenly decided to clobber together a load of different clubs into regions?. No chance. You lose any history the clubs ever had. Look what happened with our rebrands. The welsh clubs have had a ridiculous amount of rebrands.

Pontypridd RFC for example. I remember going to big games at Sardis road when I was younger and atmosphere was class in the town and the ground. A really unique, claustrophobic atmosphere. They didn't have big name backers, so bye bye. Amatuers for you.

The regional clubs are total shit because of the WRU. And the fanbases have been destroyed because of the WRU.

Regions happened as the club game was unsustainable in the Professional era. The club game was also hampering the Wales side which let's be honest is the lifeblood of rugby. The club game in football is the priority. Totally different to rugby.

i think the reason tickets are low is simply before this tournament we couldnt fill a 10,000 seater stadium.....lets be honest if we were in 5 position in the group then tickets would be given away......

I don't think it'll remain on free telly forever but if it does go to Sky you can't blame just Wales.Sky money would do an awful lot in countries like Italy and to a lesser extent Scotland where the game is struggling compared to football. The Six Nations is the flagship of international rugby and the ERU would have a big say I'd imagine.

Our first home match of this campaign Krab was a general sake sell out (32,000)... before that game we only beat Andorra in a dire match. I agree that fans only come at pleasant times but to keep prices cheap, there has to be some sort of income elsewhere. Ours is Sky Sports & Vauxhall, while Wales rugby games are shown free to air. England Rugby had to sell their Non-Competative matches to Sky Sports to be able to compete with the likes of France as there is no money what so ever in The BBC to buy the rights and support rugby or football anymore.

ITV Bought the English Football rights but look likely to lose them in 2017* to Sky Sports or BT Sport just like the FA have sold the Under 21s to BT.

It's not exactly on all the time is it.

And sports sell to the highest bidder. Have a go at the ECB for the cricket.

The BBC has a budget. It purchases the rights to what it feels the country wants to see, within that budget.

Have a pop at snooker or maybe darts as that is on miles more than rugby. The six nations is huge, that's why they get the rights.

Im getting really fucked off with the BBCs attitude towards Sport. Match of the Day is trash these days, commentators and pundits paid thousands and are f*cking shite, they throw everything at the FA Cup this year yet they were part of the reason why the FA Cup lost its interest in the first place!!! The World Cup coverage was shocking (together with ITVs) and its our money they are f*cking around with!!!

The staff numbers which cover events compared to the likes of Sky and ITV takes the f*cking piss!!!

Im all for the BBC not to have any sport whatsoever and don't get me started on Jason f*cking Mohammed

The BBC is not 'free telly'. We pay a licence fee, whether we watch that particular channel, or not. Couldn't care less about the egg, though.

Agree 100% with this. Including especially your reference to the ubiquitous Cardiff boy.
