Barca keeper in talks

22/06/15

The Swans are believed to be looking to bolster their goalkeeping ranks with the addition of Barcelona youngster Guillermo Lara.

Garry Monk is on the lookout for new keepers having seen Gerhard Tremmel and Dai Cornell leave the club.

And Lara could come in as third-choice behind Lukasz Fabianski and Heerenveen's Swedish international Kristoffer Nordfeldt, who is expected to join.

Lara is just 18-years-old and initially it was thought he would primarily be part of the development set up. Talks are said to have already taken place between the youngster and the Swans but a deal is yet to be struck.

Should Lara arrive he would be part of a new-look goalkeeping corps which will be overseen by coach Tony Roberts who recently came on board from Arsenal.

Another 1st choice international goal keeper

Swans have finally captured long standing target Kristoffer Nordfeldt from Dutch side Heerenveen on a three year deal for an undisclosed fee which is believed to be around the £600k mark.

He will provide competition for Lukasz Fabianski's no1 spot, and won't settle for a place on the bench all season. He is currently Swedens number 1 choice in goal and he will be keen to keep that spot in the international set up.

The Swedish no1 becomes the Swans' third summer signing, as Garry Monk looks to improve his squad early on before the start of pre season. Rumours are that Barcelona youngster Guillermo Lara could also be set to move to the Liberty at the end of the month, with suggestings he will spend his first season in the development squad.
