Reading still waiting to hear if they have any money

Mon Jun 22, 2015 6:29 pm

Steve Clarke is still waiting to hear whether he has any money to spend this summer.

The Royals’ boss is desperate to add some new faces to his squad having already seen Adam Federici and Alex Pearce leave in recent weeks.

He has some targets lined up, with Hull City midfielder Stephen Quinn and free agent Paul McShane both in talks about a move to Madejski Stadium.

But speaking to BBC Berkshire, Clarke revealed he has yet to be given the nod by the club’s Thai owners to bring anyone in.

“I’ve got to be honest, as I sit here now that’s a question that I’m still waiting to be answered," he said.

“There are two and a half deals almost ready to be pushed over the line. I’m just waiting on the green light from the owners to do that.

“The green light will come from Thailand."
