Leicester City, West Bromwich Albion and Norwich City are the latest names to be linked with moves for Ipswich Town striker Daryl Murphy, reports the Daily Star. Stoke City, Cardiff City, Middlesbrough, Fulham and QPR have also been linked with moves for the player.
Murphy was in fine form last term as he topped the Championship goalscoring charts, netting 27 times for the Tractor Boys. This has not gone unnoticed with Premier League Leicester City, West Bromwich Albion, Norwich City and Stoke City all said to be monitoring the experienced forward. Championship outfits Cardiff City, Fulham and QPR are also said to be keen, and Middlesbrough were understood to have had a £2.5 million bid knocked back next week.
Ipswich Town are understood to be demanding £3 million for the 32-year old who has just one-year remaining on his current deal.

LET others have him at those silly prices

As soon as premier League teams get involved our chances become virtually nil.
I can't wait to see who's on Slade's "B" list of strikers.

I would rather spend £4 million on McAleny than Murphy.

It's one those signings,if u pay 3m and he gets us promoted everyone says great business but if he plays like he has for yrs until last season then ppl say why did we pay 3m for someone of that age with no sell on value and had only had one gd season

I honestly can't see us buying This guy for that much money, with all the cut backs it really doesn't make sense to pay stupid money for a 30+ Year old who's had one good season in the championship. The only other option I see if he's part of an exchange with AlF.

Oh just let the others have him.

We have no chance of competing against clubs like Leicester, Norwich, Stoke and WBA so we may as well move on, why would he want to come to us when he can play in the best league in the world with a bigger club

Literally out of our league. He will be going to a Premier League club.
May as well look elsewhere.
