Yes I can as I worked up there, it did really well, but when there was trouble it was like a war zone outside.
Our manager Tiny, I believe got found in a river dead.
I met many Valley City fans up there :thumbright:

Thats it. I thought of Tiny as a gentle giant :thumbright:

So your Dad worked there, my Dad was mostly up at the Queen of Hearts as I was mostly working at the Prince of Wales St Mary Street, Cardiff. Once that was sold, I was shipped up to Nelson  :thumbright:

Memory's not so good on dates but 78/79 was playing for Barry Plastics in a cup game at Treharris (or Trelewis!) and had a torrid afternoon. Our winger was chasing down the wing and one of their supporters 'stiff armed' him as he was running past. Mayhem followed. After the match we stopped off at the Queen of Hearts. Upstairs it was starting to turn a bit, umm, scary. I was the youngster in the team, the team baby at the time. One of the boys took a whack. "Oi, you can't do that!" I says. Whack.....right on the beak and fell down the stairs. It was like the Wild West after that!!

Always makes me smile looking back but just glad to get out of there at the time!!

Knocked down now, innit?
