With Cardiff City reportedly in 'advanced talks' to sign a young Honduras star, he says he wants to secure a move before his team starts pre-season next week

Alberth Elis, the exciting teen Honduran striker who is reportedly interesting Cardiff City and Everton wants to complete his move to Britain now he's home from the U20 World Cup in New Zealand.

Reports in Elis' native Honduras say the Bluebirds are in "advanced" talks with the 19-year-old's representatives but the player has told diez.hn he's waiting for news.

He said: "It's my agent who is handling this situation, he said he will announce in due time if there is already something concrete.

"We still do not know anything, or I haven't been notified anyway."

After the frustration of sitting out on Honduras' opening hammering against Germany in Christchurch, Elis played in the impressive 4-3 win over Uzbekistan and the disappointing defeat against FIji which saw them eliminated.

Now the Olimpia man has been back in his homeland six days and says and insists his agent is working hard on securing a move before his current club starts pre-season training on June 22.

But WalesOnline understands there could be complications over a work permit for the youngster, even if a deal is agreed.

Hope there aren't any work permit issues! Hahaha. Interesting signing if it goes ahead. I wonder how much the fee is for. Got to be a couple of millions at least.
