Nine people have died in a shooting at a historic African-American church in Charleston in the US state of South Carolina, officials say.
City police chief Gregory Mullen said eight of the victims were killed inside the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church on Wednesday evening, while another person died shortly afterwards.
Police are now searching for a white male suspect in his 20s.

I think we don't mean to do it, but it obvious that we really do not react the same way when a white person commits a crime to a black.
Now people online are claiming the gun and law and NRA at at fault, instead of the race debate we would be having if a black person started killing white folk in a church.

The US was institutionally racist until only 50 years ago... and that's only formally. I think there's still huge racial issues there. Both ways as well. Always the innocent people who are suffering though. Very sad.

The saddest bit is that neither side understand it can never be simply 'black or white'
