Ross, thats £1.4mill of our debt.
Weve been doing bad deals for years and robbed on to many occasions.

Annis, he was ever present keeping out some of the best wingers in France and nearly helped St Etienne get into the Champions League. We should have been demanding a minimum of 3 million for him in my opinion, especially if we think Mason is worth that.

I do do agree with You Ross, but I keep on saying our club does not know what it is doing and Tan just wants money back ASAP at all costs, there is going to be more bad sales to come.
Tan wants wages reduced drastically.

Who are these 'best wingers in France'? There are no great wingers.

It's set and probably not a huge difference on what was paid for him as I doubt we would have paid the full fee due to the small number of appearances.
We've got to be realistic.
We can't keep all of our players, we've got too many and a ridiculous wage bill.
I doubt he wants to stay either given the choice.
We've also got Fabio to play right back and he's also on a big wage.
I'd rather keep him.
The deal is a fair one and I hope we'll get more done soon so we can get a settled squad sooner rather than later

Guys I disagree with you on this one. Just my opinion but I think that he was nothing special in the prem and he played a role in our defensive woes. 1.5 million can go on strengthening other areas or clearing some debt.

I think PSG outclassing Chelsea away from home with only 10 men shows Ligue 1 is a very strong league, containing attacking players well above our 3 million rated Joe Mason. I understand Annis' point that Tan wants to offload our high earners, but we could have got much more than Catherine imo.

He has a E 2m buyout clause so that's all we were ever going to get.

Reported fee we paid was £2.1m which at the time was appx E2.5m .
No idea, but part of this might have been dependent on appearances etc.. so perhaps not the full E2.5 was paid.
Even if it was, the loss was only E500k.
Not massive in the grand scheme of things.
