That singing the National anthem during the game is kept at certain times of the game. The timing of that on Friday when it was clear to everyone that the players needed something extra made it even more special. I just hope it's not sing for the sake of singing a song.
Keep it special

Spot on! It seems like too many songs recently, once they have caught on after fans sing it once during a game, fans try to get it to become a regular thing, losing much of what makes it special

I agree with you that it lifted the players, who were under the cosh of a very good outfit. BUT - It was The Barry Horns band who saw the need and rallied the troops. IMHO the club needs to have them as fixtures.
I know a few of the guys and they are really good at winding the crowd up again the right time.
If the Anthem was sung throughout, it would lose its impact as you said. Can club games capture the moment too??

Exactly like the Bob Marley song when it was sung at the Leiecester play off semi it was special then but very quickly it become just another song to sing

Perfect example there! As much as I enjoy that song, it has nowhere near as big of an impact at the moment as the first time it was sung because it was over used in the next few games in my opinion

Good point and couldn't agree more. Songs have a certain power and can be motivating when sang at the right time during a game.

Totally!
Otherwise it becomes a big like American ice hockey where the organist plays some stupid tune and they all go wild... After they've scored. Lol. We need inspiration, not confirmation.
Yma O Hyd is in favour at the moment. I agree!!!!
