" If we Qualify guide to tickets "

Sun Jun 14, 2015 9:27 am

Uefa have launched the initial public lottery stage of their Euro 2016 ticket sales process. Of particular interest to England and perhaps Wales fans too, the first stage of the ticket lottery runs from 10th June until 10th July.
Fans are encouraged to sign up for an account at the Uefa ticket portal to register their interest, and choose the matches they would like to attend.
Tickets for the group stage start at €25, up to €145, with four price categories available for each stage of the tournament.

We still are a long way from qualifying but took a giant step forward Friday so I thought I would re post this...I asked the FSF to do an article about the tickets to try to explain allocations, if there are additional questions let us know and we will try to get the answers for you.

can we not buy the tickets for euro 2016 through our faw membership

Re: " If we Qualify guide to tickets "

Membership of the FAW will be very important in our own allocation of tickets and fans who have shown the most loyalty will definitely get tickets.

Membership details from the last two campaigns plus this current one will be used to decide who gets the first tickets, then other factors will come into play such as games attended, tournament tickets etc...but the FAW will publish full details of how tickets will be allocated.

At any point will tickets be offered to people who went to watch Wales play in pointless friendlies or will it all be about membership? Can you still buy a membership?

We will be heading to Montpellier if/when we qualify. In the south Next to the beach , six venues within two hours drive , three within an hour . Not a host city so will be cheaper for accommodation , I think it's the safe bet to get to the host city's easily without having to pay a fortune :ayatollah:

Membership will reopen once the Israel and Andorra tickets are sold out...this is to ensure current members get these tickets.

Euro finals Ticket allocations
It is quite complicated and please use this as only a guide and not set in stone, the Football supporters Federation will put an article on line soon that will be more substantial and Kevin Miles the FSF (CEO) will contribute to that.
The Portal is now open that enables fans to register for their UEFA EURO 2016 ticketing account, with one million tickets set to be available in the initial application phase which runs from 10 June to 10 July. This will not GUARANTEE you a ticket, but will put you in the with a chance of getting one of the PUBLIC DRAW tickets
One million tickets are up for grabs in this initial phase, with €25 tickets available for 43 of the 51 games. The allocation will be independent of the time an application is made. Once the application period is closed, there will be a random selection process to determine successful applicants for all those matches which have been oversubscribed.
The basic distribution of tickets for a game at a 40,000 all seated stadium is worked out approximately like this
Assuming Wales were playing Greece
Both participating teams 18% of tickets Wales’s fans would have 7,200 Greeks would have 7,200
(14,400) which is 36% of the 40,000 seats available
Public sale tickets 34% of tickets (12,800)
(12,800) which is 34% of the 40,000 seats available
10% goes to sponsors (4,000)
10% UEFA and the “Football family” (4,000)
10% goes to the media (4,000)
The FAW will have control over the 18% tickets that they will be allocated, whether they sell them or UEFA sell them, the FAW will use their loyalty scheme to decide who gets one of that 18%.

There will be opportunities to buy follow your team tickets and also the chance to buy tickets for a particular town or city where you could stay and watch games solely in that town /city.
There will also be a scheme set up whereby you can get vouchers for the rounds that follow the first stage, if your team qualifies your voucher becomes valid.
As we get closer to the possibility of qualifying FSF Cymru will keep meeting with the FAW and update everyone as we go along.

Don't want to piss on anyone's chips but qualification has not been acheived yet and already there are threads about tickets and travel.

I know the thread says "If we qualify.." but Wales have a long history of blowing it at the last minute, even more than Cardiff did before eventually getting promoted.

Wales could easily fail to qualify. It would only take an injury to Bale or Rambo to put qualification in jeapordy.

Let's hope that, just as City finally managed to get to the Premier League, Wales finally manage to get to a major finals - and let's hope if they do get there, they do better than Cardiff did.

I don't know if I'm just being plain stupid but how can we pick the games we want to attend when we havent even qualified ?

You chance your arm, apply to buy tickets then sell them in an official UEFA 'swap shop' should you not get the right venues or we don't qualify.

Preparation is everything and you will have more chance getting UEFA tickets than Welsh FA tickets.

Okay cheers mate, clears things up a bit for me.

Bit of an expensive risky option. It says on the site they do a second lottery after decembers draw is announced where its a "follow your team lottery" so you apply for tickets for your team then.

Yeah, you're right.

We have actually already qualified and I misread the table.

So how does everyone think we can do now that we have in fact qualified?

I can't see anyone beating us to be honest - Wales are going to be European Champions!!!!!!

(Is that positive enough for you?)

You're right, it's far too early to count our chickens and assume that we've already qualified!

What we as fans ought to do is not apply for tickets for France until we know for certain that we are actually in the finals!

Of course we may not know that we've qualified until October, by which time any Welsh fan wishing to apply for tickets will have missed the closing application date for tickets by 3 months Einstein!

Hi Corky,

One issue I am concerned about is that Tournament ticket was purchased via the Cardiff CIty FC, over the phone, I know myself and many others were not asked for our FAW membership number when providing our details, so therefore I am worried the loyalty points for attending every home game will not be included on my membership :o

Lucy will have a record of everyone who purchased a tournament ticket.

  I did not realise that!

You make a fair point but really the thread should just be called "Guide to tickets" as you'd have to apply for them early irrespective of "if we qualify" or not.

Let's hope it's not a big waste of money for lots of people - if Wales don't qualify I suppose they can always support England.

Unless the thread title has changed (like the many other thread titles to generate hits) since the thread was first posted, then I can't see anything wrong with, "If we qualify, guide to tickets" headline and it would be down to people not reading the whole of the initial post as well, which clearly states the date that applications for tickets ends! :)

hi corky mate. would you know if all our group games at euro 2016 (if we qualify) will be in the same city or will they be all over france. cheers mukka. F.T.J.!!!

Re: " If we Qualify guide to tickets "

No mate, its not possible to know yet but generally games are played in more than just one city in Qualifying rounds for instance in the last Euros in Poland and Ukraine the republic of Ireland played 3 games only on the 10th June they played in Poznan, on the 14th June they travelled to Gdansk and then their final game was back in Posnan
