Please can we get rid of the singers for national anthem? She tried to be heared above crowd and totally ruined it! Said it before don't need help singing it! Its a rugby trait let's keep it there.

Very much agree with you allan, although they don't have a singer at the rugby either.... Think they tried it once, or twice and there was uproar over it, so they never tried it again

Yes stopped because of reason I have put! But replaced one person with 100 in about 4 choirs! Same result only hear them as microfone geared to them! What happened to first bar of music then crowd took over! :?

It's actually not a rugby thing. They never have a singer these days, it's just the crowd.

Personally, I like a singer. Lucie Jones (of X Factor fame) sang before the double header back in October and was very good IMO, not too high like Katherine Jenkins has been in the past (Croke Park in 2007 springs to mind). What I also don't mind (and is something that many dislike) is the pace of it. The anthem during the rugby is a bit too slow for me. The tempo of the anthem before the football is fast enough but not unduly so. The version of the anthem that the FAW have been using for a few years now is very good.

They have up to 4 choirs (200men) singing anthem at rugby! And microphone is set up so you hear them more than crowd! Also she was out of sinc with crowd Friday. :o
