BEST ATMOSPHERE?

Fri Jun 12, 2015 11:43 pm

That was certainly the best atmosphere I've experienced at a Wales game.

The best I've experienced anywhere is Cardiff v Leeds in the Fa Cup.

Was tonight as good as that for atmosphere? Never thought that would be matched but tonight ran it close.

It will never match the intimidation, drunkeness and hatred at Leeds, but that was a fantastic modern football atmosphere, especially considering how many corperate fans, women and children fans were there.....

In my mind the best Welsh atmosphere of all time including 39.000 at the Arms Park and 70,000 at Millenium Stadium.

For a Wales game that was very special, but does not compare with atmospheres at some of the big Cardiff games over the years :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I actually said in the way to the ground that I had the same feeling before Leeds Cardiff. There just seemed the same raw determination, and desperation, to topple one of the big boys. Certainly the best Wales atmosphere I've ever experienced and right up there with the best at club level. Fair play to the Belgium fans as well, they clapped us all the way throughout the singing of the anthem, before and during the game.

Romania home was better and Leeds was certainly better. However it was by far the best atmosphere at CCS I've experienced

Did they? I must confess that I missed that! To be honest, I don't like that. British fans would never do that. I personally believe that an anthem should be greeted with respectful silence. Not booing or clapping.

Brilliant atmoshere all around the ground.
This is what it looked and sounded like where I was.

The most emotionally draining night of Welsh fotball for me was at Ninian Park v Scotland in 1985 as the result went against us. Last Friday is difficult to better in modern times and I hope the atmosphere will be similar in our two remaining home games v Israel and Andorra

Romania game was electric and hostile but went quiet as it became obvious we weren't going to do it.

So Friday is best Wales atmosphere for me. Doesn't top Leeds but as has been stated, that was a different era now and Belgium game is the best we can get now.

Maybe the planets aligned, perhaps Bluebirds wanted to impress visiting Newport/Wrexham/Swaaaansea/etc. fans and vice versa. Whatever it was, I loved it! The Leeds game was incredible but it was a negative atmosphere really; hostile and menacing. Friday was just a complete exuberance and full of positive will.

That's how I saw it anyway.
