Western Sydney Wanderers interested in signing Cardiff City striker Kenwyne Jones

The Wanderers are targeting the signature of Kenwyne Jones
Jones is currently playing at Championship club Cardiff city
He has scored 88 goals in 343 games in stints at several English clubs
Western Sydney Wanderers are reportedly attempting to lure Cardiff City striker and Trinidad & Tobago international Kenwyne Jones to the club for next season’s A-League campaign.
According to The World Game, Wanderers coach Tony Popovic is keen on signing Jones as he looks to rebuild his attacking stocks ahead of the 2015/16 season.
The Wanderers have lost key attackers Tomi Juric, Kerem Bulut and Nikita Rukavytsya, and the club desperately need to recruit a proven goalscorer if they are to rise back up the A-League ranks after finishing this past season in ninth position.
Jones - a powerful forward with a keen eye for goal - has scored 88 goals in 343 games over the past 11 seasons during stints at Southampton, Sheffield Wednesday, Stoke City, Sunderland, Bournemouth and Cardiff.
He is believed to be Cardiff’s top earner on $58,000 per week, and it is understood that the club - who were relegated from the EPL in 2013/14 - is keen to reduce its wage bill.
Jones wouldn’t earn anything near to that at the Wanderers, even as an international marquee, but a change of lifestyle in a foreign country could tempt the enigmatic veteran.
Loaned out to EPL newcomers Bournemouth in January, Jones netted once in six matches as the Cherries won promotion into the top flight.
Before that move, Jones had scored 11 times in 34 appearances for Cardiff in the Championship. Jones has also been capped on 88 occasions for Trinidad & Tobago.

SELL! SELL! SELL!
Really want him off our books. Never really liked his laziness. Yes, he scores goals but I believe they can often be at the detriment of the team ethic. We won't miss him if we sell him.

Our best striker easily last season not that it was that hard.
Too much wages sadly.
Thanks for actually sticking the ball in the net for us in the championship and making the most of some dire service on times.
Many supporters wrote him off bar me and a minority until he scored 2 v Yeovil.

I wish we could keep him as he is a real handful at Championsip level, but costs twice as much as he is worth. His defensive work at corners will also be missed, but if someone is willing to pay his full wages then we should encourage him to go.
