' ONE OF THE WORST DAYS IN CCFC HISTORY '

" ON THIS DAY THREE YEARS AGO "

Just read what Dave Sugaraman Aka TLG put out.

It happened 3 years ago and I agree with TLG I actually believe its done the opposite to our club, without a doubt we have not progressed.
Whether we like it or not,its part of our history and we will talk about those times in many years to come.

Gareth, that promise was made on numerous occasions including 3 years ago,a lot of fans accepted the rebrand on that condition.

I still cant believe some even still think it was all worth while

Honestly, how stupid are you all? The debt to equity isn't happening. Tan is just making mugs out of you all. Appeasement, look it up. Tell the people what they want to hear and bide yourself some time until something else occurs to take their mind off it. He's playing you for fools.

That's a matter of opinion. The Man City game for me was like walking into my house and finding it full of strangers. IMO empty achievement, empty victory. Maybe you're just one of the lucky ones who wasn't affected by it ?

Red Tuesday was the worst day for me. So many people I knew and loved who had protested against the rebrand sold their pride to take a red scarf. That was the tipping point that saw me stop going. Still makes me feel sick today.

Steve, I got in the stadium, looked around and felt sick, I walked out, thought of never coming back, but decided they were not running me out of my club that I loved and decided to fight from within :thumbright: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

Yes a certain individual tried to run me out and failed.

The fight from within kept the blue alive.

Neil, Dave was virtually threatened and intimidated, that hurt Dave big time and that was it for him.
I personally saw this at 2 meetings.

I remember Dave being accused of desertion. The same person who tried to push me out. So here we have an individual having a go at someone for not going yet trying to push me and others away for going.

There was little to be proud of on both sides. Dave gets shit because he is too intelligent for some of our Neanderthals. This would be the case no matter the argument he was making.

Personally as someone who was on the outside living away, there are very few who have emerged with credit from this. They are the people who held steadfast in their views. There aren't a huge amount of them. Many say they were always blue but that's not true.

For me it just felt like the heart and soul had been ripped out of our beloved club. :x

It felt like a betrayal of everything we all knew and loved - history, culture, loyalty pride, supporters, etc

I understand Tan's investment But surely as an astute businessman he had to take advice on the whole re brand thing?

Surely in Business you do everything you can to keep your so called customers (but we are much, much more than that) happy?

I Think Tan greatly underestimated the depth of feeling, emotion, loyalty, culture, history of our fan base and listened to people who were giving him wrong advice or he knew the consequence but ploughed on regardless ?

I think he realized his mistake quite early on but his pride and cultural stubbornness got in the way of rational business thinking.

As Annis says, it is and will forever be part of our history and heritage, we cannot erase that.

Onwards and Upwards !!!

The rebrand was absolute disaster and I'm sure when Tan talks about 'lessons learnt' he is in part referring to that mistake. I get the promotion season was spoilt because of it and seeing CCFC play in red just felt wrong.

But the truth is the rebrand was always going to be reversed the moment we started to struggle and gates dwindled. VT didn't factor that in and the FFP rules also came into it as an uninvited ally.

What most fans don't realise is VT had to chase the dragon (so to speak) in order for his rebrand to succeed. This led to him funding the club to the tune of £130m and rising. Whether its a loan or debt to equity it doesn't really matter as VT has bust his wallet and he is stuck with us. If he wants to off load then he either has to find a mug who will pay £150m+ (highly unlikely) or write off the debt and sell for a lesser amount (again highly unlikely).

We can run a hate campaign against him if we like, but personally I like the situation where the 'billionaire' owner is stuck with us and where his own interests are to continue funding CCFC responsibly in order to save face.

Personally I would stop the moaning and start seeing things for what they are; we have our cake and are eating it :D

In controversial situations like this I put myself in the adversaries shoes to try and get the others sides picture.

All I see are the directors looking after their own interests. If anyone lied to Tan it was them.
