" SCOTT MALONE " Hmmm?

Age 24

According to Russell Slade he had to beat of interest from Borussia Dortmund Hmmm?

Cost £100,000 signed from Millwall
Former England Under-19 international has signed a deal until June 2017.

Approx Wage £8,000 a week.

I would put Fabio and Declan John way before Malone.
He's ok,but nothing special in my opinion.

Opinion :thumbright:

Do you rate Scott Malone?

Would you keep Malone?

Or sell Malone on?

Hit and miss, gets forward well sometimes but defensively average.

Not as gd as fabio but for me miles ahead of John. A lower championship player so should do us fine.

Luke I agree with you about Malone hit or miss :thumbright: I'm not a big fan of his,but disagree regarding being better than Declan John.

Annis we always disagree about John  I think he is rubbish  a season on loan may help him like Ralls.

Malone may improve given proper game time.

As to Malone Hmmm? Jury is well and truly out

Malone to me seems to be the type of player who will hardly if ever won a man of the match award but also rarely let city down just a consistent 6 or 7 out of 10 co distant with no frills bit like a Willie Boland.
My opinion anyway

Just an average player?

I was an admirer of Willie Boland :thumbright:

Best left back we've got but he's only an average championship player.

Yea me 2 somewhat what u call a unsung hero though would you agree where not a star pure but would be consistent that what I get with Malone although I agree prob won't make it to the degree of Boland with the fans with status or as far as games etc but type of player i
am referring to

I would agree as far as solid defence minded left back but to attack the league [under slade I'm not so sure ] the surely fabio and ralls interchanging is the way forward as at forest they linked well also ralls played a few games at left back and understands if fabio is bombing on he needs to cover?

Although wouldn't be to disappointed if epithet left and a Solid left back joined.

I thought he looked quite decent going forward not scared to have a run with the ball. And made some decent deliveries into the box. Guess we'll have to see how he gets going this year. Should be pretty settled now.

I don't dislike Malone and he is good going forward but so are our other left backs but tbh he is way off being our best left back. Fabio for me is our best left back at the club by a mile at this current time then I'd put Declan John next, Malone would be my 3rd choice. Only 4 years ago Fabio was in the champions league final and yet some on here say he's crap, everyone to their own I suppose.

Malone is someone I've always wanted to do well. I had him playing for me on Football Manager one season. Really rated him on that but he's not reached those expectations for us. I would personally prefer John or Fabio in a 3-5-2 or a 4-2-3-1 with DM players protecting.

Borussia Dorchester he probably means

I would keep Malone. In my opinion I don't think Peltier is any good so if I was Slade I would put Fabio right back and Malone left back

Can't stand the scrawny little fecker certainly not as good as Decs or Fabio I said he's a below average champ player at best!! :sladeout: :sladeout:

Kim Bo-Kyung rejected Borussia Dortmund to come to us as well. :toothy7: :toothy7: :toothy7:

Fabio can play right back as well and is a player I would keep, Declan is young and on low wages and I still believe will only get better also in his defence is a winger so try him at that position.

Malone looks a good player only 24 hopefully will get better this season, I think some on this forum are a bit harsh on John and Malone however this season will be big for both of them and I hope prove a lot wrong but lets be honest some players in my view play really well and there are others who think are rubbish and vice versa , football is a funny ole game

Strange signing if you ask me. We had 2 decent left backs and it didn't appear to be a priority area. We were crying out for pace on the wing, creativity and a goalscorer so it was odd we bought another left back who, in my opinion, was no better than John and certainly a lot worse than Fabio.

Perhaps a case of Slade getting in players who would be loyal.

An average player who will give his all but will never get much praise like Andrew Taylor.

Can believe it. Always looks ahead of the game, quick, can pass with both feet, definitely will be playing Premiership within a couple of seasons...

Annis, I really don't understand some of the negativity towards both Fabio and young Declan. We have been dished out with a few shite leftbacks over the years, the last one being Taylor  but I think we are quite strong in that area now but Malone would be my 3rd choice with Fabio 1st and Declan 2nd

Steve, here's one we agree on I think. Anthony Taylor was total shite. How Malky thought he'd make a Premiership player I'll never know. It amazes me how people have a go at Fabio, he is Premier class. I'm not 100% with Declan but open to persuasion on him. My thoughts are that our Premier season came too soon for him and he needed more development time. However, am I alone in liking French Kev? If there wasn't an issue with his wages I would have liked him to stay.
