jerry collins former all black number 8 has been killed along with his wife in a car crash. his daughter critically ill. so sad. met him about 8 years ago at a charity function, such a modest unasuming bloke who seemed to have so much time for everyone. R.I.P. big fella and our prayers are with you daughter and your family.

Absolute tragic news and my fingers are crossed for his baby to pull through. Jerry Colin's was a man mountain on the field and an absolute gent off it. A real old school rugby player that never gave an inch. He would turn up out of the blue at village pub teams and ask if he could play a game with them....thats what he was all about....just loved people and loved playing rugby. And One of the greatest players I've ever had the fortune to watch play. Rip jerry you will be sadly missed

Sounds like a proper case of fate. The police report suggests the car suffered a technical issue causing it to swerve and it just so happened to stop across a lane with a bus coming at them. So sad. Really hope their daughter pulls through. Tragic that if she does she'll grow up without either parent.

RIP.If memory serves he was the one that sparked out Colin Charvis-a tackle that still makes me shudder.
