Given the high esteem he was held in all over the UK during his time on Tyneside, his recent troubles will no doubt look baffling to many, but with Alan Pardew having made the switch to Selhurst Park in the months since Cabaye’s departure, it seems as if a reunion could well be on the cards, after The Sun reported that he “has his heart set” on a move to Selhurst Park.

A possible fee of £10 million has been suggested as enough to convince the Parisians to sell the midfielder, whilst reports claim that the man himself would relish the opportunity to link up with Pardew again, in favour of a move to Aston Villa, who are also said to be interested in a deal.

NO mention of an Airport there - Why would any player go to a club managed by his former manager - if he did not get on with him ??

Cabaye, who left Newcastle in January 2014, has been linked with a move back to the Premier League in recent months as he has struggled to make his mark at PSG since his move to the French capital.

The 29-year-old could be persuaded to link up with Alan Pardew again as the current Palace boss enjoyed a good working relationship with him in their time together at Newcastle.

Pardew believes a marquee signing would realign the ambitions of the club in a summer when he is keen to compete for top talent.

I would take either, but both are out of our price range I would think

Cabaye was up there with the very best I saw play against us during our season in the prem.

Broke up the play nearly every attack, won tackles, great range off passing and had that bit of nastiness about him. Excellent player

I have loads of respect for pardew. He stuck it out at newcastle under what must have been awful conditions. Other jobs came up but he waited and the moved to 'his' team. I know the football in the community guy at palace and he reckons pardew is a lovely guy but tough as old boots. You'd have to be i suppose.

What a signing that would be for Crystal Palace. He is way above their station. Pardew has definitely had an influence on that move. Could be the transfer that takes them to the next level.
