I always think its a mistake to announce what a club is prepared to spend in a transfer window. Fulham will soon see that £10m disappear in the same way our £25m went missing in the Premiership season.

Midfielder Aron Gunnarsson has now signed a two year extension at Cardiff City.

The new deal will now keep him at the Cardiff City Stadium until the summer of 2018 and when the players return for training ahead of the 2015-16 campaign it will be his fifth season at the club having signed from Coventry City back in the summer of 2011.

He is currently our third longest serving player, behind only Peter Whittingham and David Marshall.

So far he has made a total of 168 appearances for the club, scoring 18 times.

Speaking to the Official Site after penning the deal, the player explained.

'I`m very happy to be committing my future to Cardiff City Football Club. I`ve enjoyed some fantastic times already during the four seasons I`ve been here and look forward to many more as we aim to push on next season and beyond. I`d like to thank the City fans for their support and look forward to getting back out there with the rest of the lads for pre-season. We`re all going to be looking to hit the ground running and I`m delighted that I`ve been able to sort out my future ahead of returning next month so that my focus can be fully on the task in hand.'
