They started the season as the club's home colours and a symbol that continued to divide the Cardiff City fanbase.
But now, at the end of a campaign that saw the Bluebirds controversial 2012 rebrand reversed, Cardiff City's red shirts are being shifted at rock bottom prices at the club's in-store outlet.
As evidenced by a picture posted on Twitter by popular fan account View From The Ninian, supporters can now buy the 2014/15 red replicas in adult sizes for just £5.
The arresting image shows the scale of change the club has undergone over the past 10 months.
Fans were given hope that a change back to blue may be in the offing after a 'consultative' meeting with the club hierarchy at the start of January.
Just a few days later it was confirmed that blue would indeed return as the club's primary playing colour effective immediately.
In the forthcoming 2015/16 season, Cardiff will wear blue for all home matches and shirts will feature a new club crest with the Bluebird as the dominant image. The away kit will be red.
After instigating the change to red in 2012, owner Vincent Tan said his change of heart earlier this year was largely influenced by his mother Madam Low Siew Beng.
In a statement he said: "My mother, Madam Low Siew Beng, a devout Buddhist, who attended Cardiff City Football Club to watch them play, spoke to me on the importance of togetherness, unity and happiness.
"I very much hope these steps will bring unity, success and happiness to our club.
"The challenge ahead for us is enormous and I truly believe we will overcome these obstacles as a united club."

Yeah, price doesn't matter. Might as well cut their losses and give them to charity.

Great value for those thinking ahead...
A great theme for Guy Fawkes Night and a chance to make a statement, too!

If the club want some good PR I know someone who can get them to children in Kenya. They are absolutely made up these kids when they get football kits.
