Liverpool are not willing to meet the £32.5m buyout clause in Christian Benteke's Aston Villa contract. (Independent)

32.5 million is a ludicrous sum seeing as Alexis Sanchez cost 2.5 mill more.

Their transfer policy is that stupid I thought they were gna go through with it.

For that much money why not have a look at some up and coming south americans or something???. You could get literally anyone under 21 for that much money. Benteke may score a few but he wont set the world alight.

That's exactly what I thought. I think it shows just how desperately Aston Villa want to keep hold of him. I'm surprised Liverpool didn't accept that amount though given their history of ludicrous spending.

Shows the difference between a club prepared to let go of a player (Sanchez) When they know who they want to buy as a replacement (Neymar), compared to a club who don't want to lose there best player (Benteke) and know they can't buy someone as good as him in replacement. I think with the right team, he could easily be a 30+ goal a season striker, good with the ball at feet and in the air. Up front for Man Utd, Chelsea he'd get 30 if injury free next season.

I think it's a great price for a buy out clause.
