'Kenwyne Jones'

Mon Jun 01, 2015 7:44 pm

Kenwyne Jones is a proven goal scorer, netting 11 times in 25 appearances for City this season and also getting a vital goal for Bournemouth whilst on loan which helped win them the league, however some fans find Kenwyne lazy and feel he doesn't try.
Apparently he is on 37 k a week. :o

The rumours are that other clubs are interested, but I'm sceptical to think that Bournemouth would pay that amount of wags for a fringe player.
Personally I can't stand the fact that he looks like it's a chore to play for City, but if he can sort out his work rate then I would welcome him with open arms, providing he scored. I also can't look past the wages, so I would get rid.

Would you keep him? :bluescarf: :sladein: :ayatollah:

No James I would move Kenwyne on.

Cannot see any way on earth that the Cherries will come in for him now which is a shame, they already had Kermorgant, Wilson and Pitman as their front line strikers though I suspect pitman and Kermorgant may be moved on. They now have Josh King and Atsu so no way they will sign Jones sadly.

Priceless (for a so-called 11-year old)

I'm guessing you are basing your comparisons on £2.50 per week pocket money?? :?

A proven goal scorer and most people want to get rid?

Jimmy Greaves was often seen standing around the penalty area waiting for the ball, and statistically his effortless tap ins won leagues, cups and vital matches. They didn't get rid of him because he was perceived to be lazy

I agree with the value for money aspect, but Kenwynes style and approach gets him the goals, sadly nobody else has been as successful in recent years

I would vote for keeping him unless we can find somebody better, which as we all know will cost too much, bit of a dilemma really!

Too costly.

Not sure though who would take on his salary

I think you are doing Greaves a great disservice here. A truly great player and had far more to his game than the goal hanger you are suggesting.

Fair comment, I agree greavsie was in a different league, I was just trying to get over that goals are goals and they are so hard to come by that we just can't rely on "triers " and workhorses
