Uwe Rosler wants Simon Moore as first Leeds signing at £500,000
Uwe Rosler has been linked with bringing Cardiff City's Simon Moore to Leeds United.
May 2015
New Leeds United boss Uwe Rosler wants to sign Cardiff City goalkeeper Simon Moore.
The 25-year-old played under Rosler for Brentford, and the paper report the new head coach is hoping to strike a £500,000 deal.
Moore has a contract until 2017 at Cardiff, and started the season off as second choice for the club.
An ankle injury to David Marshall in January gave Moore his opportunity, playing 10 Championship games and conceding 14 goals, with one clean sheet.
Cardiff bought Moore from Brentford in 2013 for £150,000, but he has made just 15 appearances for them.
A transfer move for Moore would raise questions over Marco Silvestri's future at Leeds, but with veteran Stuart Taylor released, the club need an alternative at the position.
Alternatives could include former goalkeepers Paul Robinson, who told the Lancashire Telegraph he would be open to a switch to Leeds, or Scott Carson who played under Uwe Rosler at Wigan.
Another option is Southend stopper Daniel Bentley whose penalty shootout heroics helped the club win the League Two play-off final yesterday at Wembley. He was previously scouted by Brian McDermott, reported The Mail, and when owner Massimo Cellino attended the Morecambe v Southend game earlier this month it was speculated it could have been to watch the goalkeeper.

If true, hopefully this would mean Marshall is staying. Do you know if it's a loan or permanent move?

Or we could end up losing both.

If Leeds are paying a £500,000 loan fee then I would snap their hands off

Why? I can understand lowering the wage bill but surely selling proven players who are worth there wage (not the silly/worthless overpaid signings) for someone not as good is just a step backward.
Definitely need to keep Marshall in my opinion

Marshall suspended 3 games, Lewis injured for a bit and departing the club, no chance.

Bringing in a transfer fee and lower wages. We ain't going anywhere next season so for me its an easy choice.

Fair enough fella, i understand your thinking but for me i am not ready to write off next season before it has even started. In my opinion Marshall, Manga and Fabio must stay if the club want's to show any serious ambition at all.

Spot on. We should usually always keep our best players & Marshall is certainly that.
The few mill we would get for him wouldn't even make a dent in the 130 odd million debt.

Wayne Hennessy would be great on loan for us if Marshall was to go ?

He would actually do a job for Swansea if they needed a keeper.
