If Marshall goes to Liverpool

If what Carl posted about Liverpool being interested in Marshall turns into him leaving, would you feel comfortable with Simon Moore as our first choice goalie or do you think we would have to sign a new keeper.
Personally I would feel fine with Moore playing. I think he deserved more credit than he got for his performances last season.
He saved a penalty against Derby, made sure that the Norwich away game didn't turn into an absolute embarrassment with some incredible saves and in a pressure situation at Forest when everything was against us he still produced some great stops. I would love a young player like him to be given a chance.
However, we would still need to sign another keeper as a back up if Joe Lewis leaves, unless Slade calls up Charlie Horton up to the first team. Foderingham of Swindon has been mentioned. He looked pretty average in the play-offs but I'm sure he would be solid. What I would want is a swap deal with Bolton, Bogdan for ALF.
IMO if Marshall left, Moore would do a good job but he must have some serious competition so his feet stay firmly on the ground. If we signed either Bogdan or Foderingham it would tick that box and also both keepers have the ability to break into the team

Would be gutted if he left as we need all the experience we can get next season, it must be great for the youngsters to have Marshall in the dressing room but I won't begrudge him leaving to play for a club line Liverpool, Marshall is a class act!

Agree completely.

He's served Cardiff well and been loyal , but he's someone who should be and deserves to be in Premiership and Champions League every year he's just as good as ANY Premiership goalie right now.

Its crazy how people want to us be successful next season but then say they'd like Moore to be NO.1 he made a couple decent saves but other than that was quite poor, people just can't see through the fact that he's young so could turn out to be good. Right now at this moment in time he IS NOT good enough to a number 1 goalkeeper in a top 6 team!

Marshall is worth at least 10 points to us in terms of the saves he makes

He was brilliant when called upon and kept us on games. He's already good! IMO he can be a top 6 keeper, but that doesn't matter because we're not a top 6 team at the moment.

I agree that Marshall is a quality keeps who is worth a lot of points, but Moore is a great keeper aswell.

If arsenal really wanted him, they would have got him

For me we need better than Moore.

He's made some good saves this season and seems a bit more commanding than Marshy but seems to spill the ball and not as good a shot stopper (not many are to be honest)

Also dropped a real clanger away at Brentford which luckily for him was overshadowed by the two clangers made by the Brentford keeper!

I'd prefer a new number one.

Marshall has been superb on and off the pitch for city, he fought it out for the jersey with Heaton under DJ and has not looked back and improved his game where it was needed. But I am a huge fan of Moore, I have no doubt he will take the opportunity with both hands. He will only get better and I honestly believe in years to come will go from city for a much higher fee than Marshall.
