I still think that watching the City in a FA Cup Final is my proudest moment as a City fan, many will say seeing the club promoted to the Premier League is that moment but for four or five seasons I really believed that we would become a top flight side, it was a matter of when and not if, it doesn't make our promotion any less brilliant, it is just that I think we all had hot there so close so many times it was more a relief and an about time moment than an unexpected one.
But the Cup Final in 2008, maybe because 1927 was etched in our history and something we will always be proud of, I felt as proud that day as I ever have watching the Bluebirds.
Even in defeat our club and especially our fans received widespread congratulations for the part we played that day, I grew up as a boy dreaming that City would be live on the BBC on Cup Final day but never ever expected that day to arrive.

We got to that final as ourselves while we went into the premier as something that was not us.

None of these big finals hold the same attraction or importance to football supporters anymore, who are not supporters of the two clubs involved because we have become saturated with live football on television. The FA cup used to be the only live game broadcast when we were kids, now you can even watch non league games!!
I was just looking at the BBC schedule of all day programming around the FA cup and it fills me with dread thinking of watching idiots like Robbie Savage for hours on end
