' Lee Peltier '
One of Russell Slade's signings and despite an average start to his Cardiff City career, Peltier turned into one of Slade's better signings.
As the season was coming to a close I was impressed by his desire, work rate and in one of the last home matches, against Blackpool, the full back showed real fight after becoming involved in an incident in our penalty area.
With little but pride to play for, Peltier showed that he was someone who is willing to keep going and will give everything even when there is nothing to play for, that is an attribute in all our players that we need.
But Peltier is not just a battler he is a decent full back too, I think when we look back at Slade's signings in his first season at City, then the defender will be the best of the bunch.
I don't think there were many City fans who were particularly impressed when we signed him but what are your thoughts about him now he has played a number of games in a City shirt?

Agree about most of that,Peltier looks up for a battle, good defender and a leader.I think Doyle will be Slades best signing of last season.

If there is a player you want replacing Kevin McNaughton at right back then he's the man. Yes, you could argue there are better right backs out there but there are also a lot worse. Will be a reliable and consistent performer next season.

he needs to get forward more though which he is more than capable of .
A lot of the time he wouldn't pass the half way line .
Perhaps he was told not to .

Great player! Admire his passion and commitment and isn't afraid to bollock players who are not lulling their weight!

Funny how practically all Leeds fans thought he was hopeless yet most of ours seem to like him. But there is a common theme here. Loads of our fans like Fabio, Mason and Harris who have done virtually nothing for us. Not forgetting Daehli when we had him.

A good replacement for Brayford ..... who was nothing special and we were lucky to get our money back on him

I really like Peltier.
As you elude to not an exciting player but consistent, a good leader on then pitch and keeps going.
Players like Peltier are the engine on which the flair can be built in other areas of the pitch (which we are sadly missing!).
Could turn out to be an excellent player for us.

I would have him as my captain

For me a very average player, certainly lower half of the championship type of player but that's where I expect us to be under Slade so really a good player for us. I think the full back position as evolved to a place where just being a solid defender is not enough, a fullback needs to be able to go forward, get past the wide player, make the space to help the wide player etc etc and offer more than Peltier does. Positives are that he is a battler.
If we have any intentions of trying to get near the play/off then we must get a better fullback. I would keep him as back up.

When most people were slagging this signing off, I and one or two others said that he would be a very good signing and that he would turn into an important player for us. We told everybody to wait and see and we were proved right. I have followed his career and if it was not for a bad injury he suffered at Leicester, when he was playing week in and week out, then he would have probably still been playing for them now, in the Premiership. Of course after that managers changed and he was out of favour so he joined Warnock at Leeds and was immediately made captain. He played all the time while under Warnock and not to long after Warnock went he followed and left- after a loan spell - to go back to Huddersfield. Yes, he may not be back to the great level that he was when he was first at Huddersfield and then Leicester. But, as he continues to play regularly, then next season I think that he will show the signs of his best. Cracking signing in my opinion, because he is a leader, a fighter, a battler and the way he plays the game will definitely galvanise other members of the team. Well done Lee.

A decent player and should be captain as well.

Good defender, good passion. A definite starter for me and we need more with his grit

I've been very impressed by Lee Peltier. Captain material. Decent player, with a great attitude, and takes on responsibilities. When Marshall got sent off at Forest, Peltier was first over to the bench to see what the plan was. We held on!

My Leicester mates up here rated him highly before he got injured.
It looks like he is starting to get back to that level. For our sakes I hope he gets there. If he does he will be a good signing.
