Do you think the upcoming Belgium game will be a new record attendance at the stadium?

Thomas,I enjoyed the Welsh Cup days, but they would only work if we were allowed back in Europe via them :thumbright:

I wouldn't mind it if we played in it again but could only field under 21s and couldn't qualify for Europe through it. I think it would be good experience for the young lads.

Great post though. Love looking back at records for the club.

Mmmm so is 95% or more of English clubs history! Ffs not that many fa cup winners out there either so its a record to be proud of.
One record not there is losing 1st div title by .oo1 of a goal 1926 i think? closest amount in history!

Yes we were very good in the twenties but so were Huddersfield. Gone downhill ever since. Our record is nowhere near as good as, say, Forest, Leicester, Newcastle, Deby, Portsmouth or the Sheffield clubs.

It looks impressive to me! It's when you look at that string of achievements you realise how important it is to recapture the glory days of the 20's to make another landmark worthy of recording in the list.

Very unlucky not to win the League title in 1924. Closest Championship in history, lost out by less than a goal on Goal Average.
We were a football powerhouse for a period in the 1920s, during one season we had the fifth highest average attendance in the entire Football League.

Thats because we've spent more years in the lower leagues then them clubs.
