Our data unit has collated and analysed your player ratings from each of the Bluebirds’ 46 Championship games on the way to their 11th-placed finish

They started the campaign with a squad that looked primed for an automatic promotion push but, by May, were just happy to be leapfrogging Nottingham Forest into 11th place.

Cardiff City failed to live up to their pre-season billing as Championship favourites after a summer of big-spending on established stars.

In the end, there was a large turnover of players, with 38 used as Russell Slade’s men were forced to settle for a mid-table finish.

As it all unfolded, we asked you to rate the Bluebirds’ stars after each match as a series of disappointing performances, particularly at home, meant they had to reappraise their aims.

Now, our data unit has collated and analysed your player ratings from each of the Bluebirds’ 46 Championship games and cup ties.

Each player’s overall average rating has been calculated and the squad members that took part in at least 10 games have been ranked as a result.

BEST BLUEBIRDS
Gabonese centre-back Bruno Manga won the club’s Player of the Year award and it seems the accolade was entirely merited after your ratings over the course of the season saw him come out with the top average mark in the Bluebirds squad.

Manga averaged a 6.6 rating in his 29 Championship appearances - putting him well clear of his closest competition.

Next best were Matthew Kennedy and David Marshall, who both earned averages of 6.2 after a series of consistent performances in a struggling side.

Brazilian full-back Fabio wasn’t far off that pair with his swashbuckling forward play and tighter defence this term giving him a 6.1 average.

Though he left the club all the way back in December, fans’ favourite Mats Moller Daehli was fifth-best in 2014/15 with the little playmaker getting an average mark of 6 before heading to Freiburg in Germany.

WORST PERFORMERS
Your marks show it was City’s army of strikers that impressed you the least this season.

Four of the bottom five average ratings in the Bluebirds squad belong to front men.

Joint bottom of the ratings with the lowest mark of 4.6 were the now-departed Nicky Maynard and ex-Manchester United man Federico Macheda.

Next-worst were January signings Alex Revell and Scott Malone who arrived within a couple of days each other but, judging by your average rating of 4.8, struggled to win over the fans with their performances.

Adam Le Fondre was the fifth-worst performer according to your ratings, with an average rating of 5 before leaving on loan for Bolton where his resurgence under Neil Lennon yielded eight Championship goals for the Trotters.

TOP INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCE
David Marshall v Brighton and Hove Albion (a)
David Marshall was used to turning in one-man rearguards during the Premier League season and he produced a similar display against Brighton at the Amex Arena which earned an 8.7 rating from the fans.

Marshall made a string of brilliant second-half saves to preserve a point in a 1-1 draw, including superb stops to deny Joe Bennett and Lewis Dunk.

WORST INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCE
Federico Macheda v Brentford (h)
Cardiff were three down after barely half-an-hour against the Bees at the Cardiff City Stadium in December.

Federico Macheda proved ineffective up front with his listless performance seeing him substituted for Kenwyne Jones after 65 minutes and earning a rating of just 2.4 following the eventual 3-2 defeat.
