I am backing us for promotion. I am an optimist anyway. I know I'm in a massive minority here but I want to see slade given a chance. All everyone ever hears is that managers and players from lower leagues deserve a chance to prove themselves and I believe russel slade deserves a chance. He took over from a clown in ole. I wouldn't let solsjkaer manager my Fifa ultimate team for a match. He was clueless. Slade also had to downsize drastically. In the middle of a season. That's a horrendous job.

Now he has a summer transfer window and a pre season to work with we will see his true value. Maybe he will fail and fail miserably but as city fans do any of us want to see that? I don't think so.

We have a striker in eoin Doyle I think can score us a lot of goals. I am a huge fan have been since I seen him play over here in Irish league. He was the player I wanted on deadline day and I was over the moon when I was in CCS to see him score his first Cardiff goal against Birmingham. A goalscorer is a reason for optimism.

Tha manager and the team need us. They need our support its easy to support them when we are walking away with the championship and playing premier league football. As Cardiff fans we know how hard times can get. Last season was tough but it's summer now a time for optimism and a sense of not knowing what next season holds. I'm Hoping wembley and eoin Doyle scoring the goal that wins us the play offs lads.

Couldn't agree more with the OP. When Ole was replaced I can't think of anyone who thought the name Russell Slade was the answer to the problems at CCS and that includes me.

However, the call has been made and in fairness I think he has done a decent job considering the circumstances he has had to deal with since his appointment.

I can remember a saying from my Army days which went "when a soldier thinks he will be killed in his next battle, he will invariably find a way to do that"

The point being if we going into the next season almost wishing for a relegation battle we will get one. It is so much better to put personal feelings aside and back what we have and stay positive.

That's what I will be doing.

The thing for me is the abysmal, dire, boring football that we played for months on end under the manager. If we gave it a go and lost then fair enough but when you only see one shot on goal in 45 minutes then it gets boring.

I just hope that the quality of the football improves this season.

It is true the standard of football was not great, but Slade had to steady the ship whilst discarding a large number of players.

It's not the first time we have put up with a crap style of football and MM's brand was certainly no better and nor was Dave Jones' first season.

I think it is only fair to give RS time to fully stabilize and then push on. The away form was superb towards the end of the season and if WE the fans could get behind the team at home, then we might just improve there to.

I think the away form towards the end of the season was that Slade was beginning to get the team he wanted and the players felt more appreciated by the die hard fans who travel.I still cringe when I think of Whitts being booed off.Team definately feel more comfortable away and I find that a sad fact to accept.Last season was a write off and was probably to be expected but if we come out of the blocks flying in August with a team of battlers the mood at CCS will be exited for the first time in ages.I would push the boat out to get Barton ,who may be a knob sometimes , but would hopefully galvanise the team and give fans a buzz win or lose

I remember the way we rolled over against West Ham in the playoffs a few years ago now and the rumblings against Malky were there especially on this forum.Twelve months later after being the most boring promotion side ever we got up and all the detractors disappeared up their own arses.Slade has it even harder than Malky because he's got less money than malky and he's a Tan appointment.Any manager that can't arse lick the fans like Malky will struggle at this club.

Fully support the players but not the manager but I don't feel I need to support him to support the team.

If Slade is in charge the whole season I will be happy with us staying up

100% agree,he was the one I wanted to sign and he did,and I also flew in from Belfast and seen his first goal against Birmingham and thought he was great when he comes on,I was also at the Bournemouth match the Tue before and we played well in a game everyone expected the worst,I'd even told the wee man on the plane not to expect anything from the first game which made it even better

Think we could push for a top 10 finish if we get one or two more addition, even maybe with the squad at present, its not as bad as people make out on here. Just need to back the boys to get a good start especially at home. We showed towards the end of last season that we are capable of winning games, it's just getting the fans on side and giving them a push to fight for the shirt. But I think fans will turn sour as soon as they're given a reason. Onwards and Upwards
